The recent drone swarm attack on the Russian Air Force base in Syria seems to demonstrate a significant change in air power. Insurgents were able to use a swarm of cheap disposable drones to cobbled together from cardboard and lawn mower engines to fly under and through one of the world's most sophisticated air defense networks and attack jets on the flight line.

These little drones somehow evaded or overwhelmed the radar controlled anti-aircraft auto-cannons around the base. While, I am sure our secret squirrels are hard at working coming up with a billion dollar solution, I wouldn't be surprised if we start seeing pictures of Russian soldiers with VEPRs and Saiga's as a last ditch defense.
What sort of shells do you think would be best for this role? HeviShot for geese was my first thought, but then again maybe #7 bird shot is all that is needed to rip up cardboard and soldering, or do you go for buck and aim for the engine?
What do you think?
