do you have no interest in? For me it is .243, and until recently the 22-250. Both are fairly common and yet have held no interest for me. Also the entire line of wsm/wssm cartridges. What are yours?

.25, .380, 9mm, .357 Sig, .243, 10mm, any of those new short magnum deals,...Heck, I could probably write a paragraph.

.204 plus all the new short mags. .357mag and 45acp are my favorite handgun loads. Anything else is no use to me.

9mm and 223. They are good at punching holes in paper... but thats it. There are so many other cartridges that do the job better.

Almost none, no intrest in .25 acp in pistol and in rifle it would be .17 calber centerfires and anything in the huge magnums like the 375RUM. Nothing against those rounds, I don't like pipsqueaks and don't like to get my body pounded by big artillery. I'll take any thing else, If it shoots good, i'm interested

For my personal uses, no interest in---

"Standard" caliber Rifles, 17HMR, .204, .223, and anything that ends in "Short Magnum". :scrutiny:

"Africa" rifles, No interest in owning one, I'm too old and beat up to consider without laughing, that the .375 H&H is a "Good medium power round" :what:,

Handguns, Both ends of the spectrum .25acp, (For those who can't handle the awesome stopping power of the .22 HMR)
& .50 A&E. (If I need 1500 fp of energy, I should have just brought the .30-.30)

Great stuff for those who want/need them, but they just play no role in my shooting life.

PS. I have shot all these rounds, However, none have come home with me. (At least, not Yet)

Of course, like many here, If I had just way too many buckets of money lying around I would most likely have a few of everthing! :D

Most hunting rifle calibers besides .308 and .30-06. My interest in hunting is EXTREMELY limited. Possible exceptions are the .35 Whelan and the .38-55.

Centerfire handgun cartridges smaller than .380acp, and I'm not too thrilled with that.

Wildly over-hyped cartridges like the 5.7mm FN. It does NOTHING I need done, in ANY way in which I need it done. If I want to shoot pests like rats or coyotes, I can do it a lot cheaper with .223 handloads out of my AR-15. If I need to make a hole in a ballistic vest or helmet, I'll use a .30 175gr. Sierra Matchking out of my Garand.

Got no use for the .30-06, even though everybody and their uncle has one. That's reason enough for me. There are better, smaller, more efficient deer cartridges and better cartridges for larger game. The `06 is just too in-between.

Same for the .357Mag. I'll take a moderately loaded big bore that puts more metal on meat without making my ears bleed any day of the week.

The .243 is another tweener. Marginal for deer and too much for anything smaller.

Any of the small bore belted magnums. Big and slow is much more efficient and I don't need to snipe at game at 500yds.

It's not really the cartridge but .45Colt fans have been getting on my nerves as of late. Blindly regurgitating and taking out of context statements about "more performance, less pressure" from a 20yr old Linebaugh article. Times have changed, bullet design has improved and the .44Mag holds a 100fps advantage right on up to 355/360gr LBT's.

It would be easier to make a list of cartriges that I have interest in, but I'll give it a shot. Any hunting caliber between a .308 bullet and a .22LR. I figure if you got those two, then all your bases in that arena are covered, why accumulate more rounds.

While .17, FN, and the little short .17s are neat, they are too pricy compared to my LR rifle for me to even consider them anything but a waste of time and money.

Pistols, 22LR/WMR, .25, .32, .38sp, 10mm, and I cannot stress enough my distaste for the .40S+W, I consider it a complete failure to make a compromise between .45 and 9mm. Have no use for 50 cal handguns either.

All magnum chamberings (especially WSMs, RUMs, and SAUMs) with the exception of the 7mm Rem Mag.

308 Winchester, because the 260 Remington does almost everything better.

6.5x55, because I'm already invested in the 260; 7mm-08 for the same reason (though this would probably be my go-to loading if I were starting over today).

In handguns, 10mm, only because preferring the 40SW really pisses off its rabid fans.

I have a Mosin Nagant and its 7.62x54r cal. and i just dont like the cal and its a rimmed cartridge. I like the rifle not the round. I dont like .410 shotgun rounds. Its just so small it just is foolish. I see it could be for rabbit and squirrels but i shoot 20 Ga. and maybe 12.

Only the ones that kill on the front end and severely maim on the back end. All the rest are alright, and probably have a legitimate use.

I don't have much of a use for the .410. I don't need a shotgun that small and don't see the point of a .410 revolver.

I'm on the fence with the 5.7. I think the P90/PS90 and 57 pistol is neat, but I don't think I want to get involved with a caliber that I don't htink is goign to last. If I could get a full auto P90 I would have a much different option though.

.25 acp - I'm ok with a .380 but the 25 just doesn't seem to have a point for me.

Oh boy, not just cartridges but entire platforms and their cartridges. Understand the popularity of the AR platform but after my military time these holds zero.squat interest for me as do the associated cartridges. The short fat magnums are another realm of yawn in my world. The concept of rifle cartridges in handgun platforms is another dead zone for me.

Anything 6mm. I don't know why, I just never have owned or shot one.

As far as the short magnums, if I was starting over with hunting cartridges, I'd be all over these. The benchrest people have known for forty years or more that short and fat means efficient and accurate. Look at all the BR calibers.

I bought a 17HMR when they were first introduced and it has since become my most used firearm around the place. In fact the only people I know who don't like them have never owned or fired one. They are a lot more useful than a 22WMR, in my opinion.

25 auto,30 carbine and 5.7 FN. The 25 and 30 carbine are the worlds most useless cartridges and the 5.7,the 22 mag and 22 hornet can do the same are somwhat chaeaper to buy and the 22 Hornet is a hell of a lot easier to reload for.

Geez, the list of cartridges I have no interest in would be very long. Easier to say what I see worthwhile.

I shoot some F-T/R which is limited to .223 and .308.
I shoot some BPCR where my .40-65 Browning is good.
I have other caliber rifles from past enthusiasms that just sit around.
Present resale value is low but if I saw an interesting trade...

The .40 S&W, lacks mag capacity of the 9's, and to me is harder to shoot than the .45. Anything with the name Ultra, or Short comes to mind as well.

that is a long list. The shorter list would be the calibers I am interested in.
9mm, 45acp, 5.56 NATO, 7.62x54r, .22LR, 7.62x39

that is all.

Got no use for the .30-06, even though everybody and their uncle has one. That's reason enough for me. There are better, smaller, more efficient deer cartridges and better cartridges for larger game. The `06 is just too in-between.
On the other hand if you don't hunt, but want to throw heavy bullets out to 1,000 yards and beyond (without excessive pressures or wear on the gun), the .30-06, and especially the .30-06 Improved are a VERY good way to do it, and without the ridiculously short barrel life of the magnums.
