What our men thought of hillary's visit....

Don't know if it's true, because I've never served, but:

My buddy says:

Rule #1) Never get between the boyz and his chow..

Rule #2) Never withhold the mail from home <-- (I hear this is SERIOUS)

Rule #3) If you get shot during combat and make it back ok, the highest ranking officer on the base will serve you food that night.

They seem to have this belief that anybody taking a bullet for the country is a in a different class all by themselves...

Bush, serving up chow, showed appreciation, Clinton cutting in the chowline shows...CLINTON..:barf:

Bush may not be up to the intellectual par...but he is nice, and he does his best, which is what counts.

Yeah, getting degrees from both Yale and Harvard isnt really all that impressive these days.

1. Why would they send email to the troops asking them if they want to meet their Senators? How many soldiers in Afghanistan have access to computers?

2. Troops had to wait an hour before they were served? How many people did the junior Senator from New York have travelling with her?

I'd like to believe the worst of Hillary, but this one ain't cutting it.

Note to reporter: The trip wasn't about you.

Anybody else tired of the constant drone of the reporters' "Me, me, me."?
Oh...so he's insinuating that the troops response was organized and planned? What a maroon...

Man, the {neocon}s are in tizzy over {Clinton}'s popularity with the troops. Kind of takes the air out of their respective balloons, doesn't it?

"These poor soldiers...so ignorant that they don't even hate {Clinton}."

This "journalist's" bile just leaps at you from the page. His hatred of his own {former First Lady} just oozes.

I love it.
In other words he would have been happy to get his chance to undermine the moral of the troops sent there to do a job. Or at least to let them know in his own special way that maybe some Americans think that they are stupid for supporting their {Congress}.
In other words instead of being honored that he was chosen to share an important day in the lives of honorable men far from home. He's mad that he didn't get to use this to his own benefit by trying to sow the seeds of discontent.
Wow. 860 words and the reporter didn't say a thing.
The political opportunity presented by {Clinton}'s secret trip to Iraq benefits more than just the President. Think of all the families viewing the video shot in the mess who recognized sons, daughters, husbands, wives, fathers, and mothers. Those cameras would not have been there except to cover {Clinton}'s visit. As for the rest of the country, it's heartening to see our troops with smiles on their faces in a tense and hostile environment. Many of us Baby Boomers grew up watching the Bob Hope USO television shows filmed during his visits to Vietnam. Seeing those guys in the bush enjoying themselves was good for our morale too.
I think this ({Clinton}'s trip to Iraq) sends a huge message to the
Iraqis. If the {former First Lady} can come over there any time {s}he wants, whats to stop the military?
...
Both show {s}hes not B.S.ing around,{s}he means biz!
Photo op or not,I give h{er} 2 thumbs-up!
Did the reporter witness the same event I saw on TV?
When I first heard about this Thanksgiving night, I wondered how the {rightists} and the {Republicans} were going to try and spin it.

Are they idiots? To the average American, there is no way they see this as even remotely a bad thing. If they had a brain they would shut up and move on to another area.

Not that I mind, but can't they see how much damage carping on stuff like this does? Or is their hatred for {Clinton} so great that they just don't care?
I am sickened...but not surprised that some on the {right} would stoop so low as to try to turn h{er} visit into a bad thing.

Funny...but I saw a couple interviews with soldiers on CNN

Sounds like griping from the media because they had to follow some rules.

And I totally agree with a couple comments I saw in that coverage

One from an outspoken Bush opponent...that {Clinton} could have stayed quietly in Texas and nobody would have said boo!

And the other from a guy that pointed out that one of the reasons we have moral problems in the military is the griping they hear from the people that claim to "support them"

It bears repeating...that the more we present a divided front, the more our enemies are emboldened

and our troops are discouraged

Reality time people....we ARE in this...whining won't get it done any faster...or better

I heard this on the Liddy show last week also. I wonder how freaking big her entourage was (at our expense) that held up chow for an hour!?!?!:fire: :barf: I believe that she is that arrogant and stupid, but this also shows that her handlers are no better (surprise? NOT).

I heard she made some really stupid comments either while there or immediately upon returning that really showed her ignorance and the true color of her stripes, but haven't been able to find teh specifics. Anyone got a link?

That woman makes my skin crawl and makes me wanna :barf: :barf: :barf:

w4rma if you are going to use my words at least get it right. My comments were made toward a reporter that was upset that he did not have access to troops that was not the case here. The reporter in this case stated that troops did not want their comments made public due to their negativity.

And I suppose you already know that Lady Clinton was in Afghanistan not Iraq

Neither of the Clinton's have ever had any popularity with the troops

Comparing the President going into a war zone to a second rate senator going into a secured area in hostile territory is ridiculous. If you didn't know the entire country od Iraq is an unstable warzone (major combat was declared over not the war effort).

And last but not least while people like you were plotting the most efficient route to Canada I was serving in the Army and you never make tired troops wait for chow and the best possible way to show them that you think you are better than they are is to cut in line. At the very least it shows a lack of knowledge of military protocol and a lack of respect that she did not bother to learn it.
I have stay out of this discussion because of the fact that I have heard it only hereand realize that it is one sided. Please don't drag me or my words into your mindless Bush hating histeria.

I would almost vote for Hillary Clinton before Bush after he said I don't deserve overtime pay. Thats right according to Bush if you make more than 50000 a year or if your a cop, fireman, ems ext you don't deserve overtime. That slug is making me want to go Democrat.

First off, I assume you are LEO, EMT, or other.

Thank you for your service! :)

Second, come on; if you voted demo, you'd be cutting off your nose to spite your face. That's just not bright!

Yep I am leo and no I am not happy with a president who is in big buisness's back pocket. I understand your argument. But Good Ole George also supports the assault weapons ban. So its obvious he only cares about whats popular when it comes to guns. When it comes to my wallet he wants to take a chunk of it while giving the richest members of this country huge tax cuts. No I am not happy with the man. Oh with ot I average about 50000 a year. But where I am at the cost of living is the highest in the nation. I have to share the rent on a house with 2 roomates. Milk cost $6 a gallon here. Gas is $2.83. You get the picture. George does not care about the little guy he cares only about making money for the rich.

You'd prefer a Democrat who would raise your taxes, pass even more restrictive firearms laws, and likely appoint a soft-on-criminals judiciary?

I'll be the first to agree that Bush surely isn't perfect, but look at the alternatives on offer:what:

carpettbaggerr, actually there is internet access in Afghanistan on base. We have posters here who are on active duty in A-Stan right now. PvtPyle was very happy when his area got high speed hook up. :)

She doesn't care a rat's rootietoot about military customs, traditions or anything else about the military.

What else would you expect fron a Rodham-Klinton?

On the firearms laws the democrates suck. I agree so do a lot of republicans. As far as taxes go I would rather make more money and be taxed a bit more than make less money and not be taxed at all. Give you an example. Our officers make between 15 to 25% of their gross income from overtime. Take that away and it will hurt them a lot more than not giving them a $300 tax return. As far as criminals goes. I am a cop and the problem is not soft on crime judges. Its treatment and getting the offender skills so when he does get out he does not go right back to crime. Of the people I arrest only about 5% or so are pure evil. Most are what I call screw ups. They lack the skills to make it due to several outside factors. We also need to lock up the right people. Holding drug users in jail for years and letting rapist and murders go free is stupid. But thats what we do. I would rather let 50 pot heads out than one sexual offender. The answer is not as easy as Republican vs Democrate.

Your right but so far Clark does not look too bad. Also having a divided government is not always a bad thing. I would like to see one party control the White House and another control Capital Hill.

reading this reminds me of a time when her hubby was the boss and I was in Okinowa, Japan. either 1999 or 2000 and they hosted the G-8 summit at the end of the summit Pres. Clinton and Chelsey(sp?) were gonna stop at Camp Foster and put in an apearance. Info comes down the chain and they ask how many people going may need to issue certain number of tickets to each unit, a little later.... hey anyone who wants to go can, alittle later.... ok each unit will supply x number of bodies. Thank God I had to work that day. While I was on island (3 years) I know of atleast 3 times that Air Force One landed on Kadena and not once did form Pres. Clinton get off the plane.

This was about the same as when M. Albright came to Prince Sultan for some type of "clinton loves you" BS, they had to make the "meeting" mandatory for the Airman and lower ranking Army folks.....

I still wonder if they know I didn't go :D. It was all BS and clinton never set foot on that piece of dirt or even wanted to.

355sigfan, I mostly sorta agree....

My daughter is leo and struggling with her bills and young family.
She is putting in a lot of holiday overtime to afford the sort of Christmas she wants.:(

************************************************************
"We also need to lock up the right people..."
************************************************************

Some of those 'soft on crime' judges would be good candidates.

The daughter made the final arrest in the career of a professional drunk driver recently. The guy had 36 convictions for DWI with no license  !
The judges had always 'felt sorry' for the old guy, and kept giving him breaks. He's in for enough time now to solve the problem.

************************************************************
"The answer is not as easy as Republican vs Democrat."
************************************************************

Absolutely, positively agreed.:D

It's just that the current crop of Democrat candidates are so bereft of workable ideas.:(
