What percentage do you think?

Just some background. I'm former military. Been around guns all my life. Reload & cast my own. Have a CCL, but carry maybe 10% of the time. I live in a great area and do not put myself in situations where I may need it. I realize it's like a seat belt - always worn because one never knows when it'll be needed. So what about concealed carry? I'll bet out of all the people owning guns less than 5% have CCL's and maybe less than that carry greater than 70% of the time. What do you think?

I carry pretty much everywhere I go except campus (college student). If it wasn't for spending a couple hours a day on campus I would say I'm in the 90-100% range. I expect most people with CHL carry pretty frequently so I said about 75% of the time.

I carry at least 85% of the time. Not because my neighborhood, circumstances or habits put me at risk. They don't. I carry because of all the times I've seen [on television] victims, their families and friends say things like "This is the last place we expected something like this to happen."

I said 40-50% because a lot of people work and/or go to schools as well as other areas that are law abiding citizen carry not allowed.

What is the question? Your post makes it sound like it could be one of two choices:

1) What percentage of folk that have CHLs actually carry?

-or-

2) What percentage of gun owners have CHLs and carry?

I don't know which question I'm answering.

I spend a lot of time in my vehicle while at work. There are many places I can't carry such as military bases, misc. fed facilities, industrial plants, etc. So, while working, I can generally only carry maybe 20-30% of time. While not working, I carry most of the time.

I have no idea, no way of knowing, no way to make an educated guess, and it's none of my business who carries a gun to begin with.

I can say that I carry ~99.99% of the time that I am conscious and not lying in my bed. In the past year, I have refrained from carrying for about five hours total, between the courthouse, two elementary schools, a high school, and two post offices. I carry 100% of the time in which it is legal to do so, including churches, bars, hospitals, and everywhere that I didn't mention previously.

Also, what people "think" is the percentage is not reliable information.

i do not think most people carry all of the time even with a ccw permit. i probably carry 98% of the time. pretty much anywhere it is lawful to carry, i do. even in my own home.

I have a CCL and when I leave the house I carry and if I have to visit a place a weapon is not legal I lock my weapon in the car in the gun safe. I carry a truck gun 100% of the time in my car, also in a lockable case, just in case of a what If.

What a weird question. I guess probably 60-75% of the time for most people that have a license. That would be my guess. I carry 95-100% of the time, but I also post on THR, so...

I put my sidearm on when I get up in the morning and take it off when I go to bed. I carry while at home. I have a Keltec P3AT in a FIST ultra thin kydex holster. It clips on my sweat pants.

well I screwed it up ... I misread the poll as "what percentage of the people do you think carry".

For myself, I carry 24/7/365, but I live in a state that is very CCW friendly (not many silly restrictions) and I can carry at work.
