LOL, thanks. No wonder I couldn't find it.
Powder Valley is out of Varget but they are showing BLC-2 in stock in 1lb containers. Ordering powder online you'll get charged a hazmat fee of roughly $28. It's best to order as much as you can at one time. I wouldn't order online unless I were ordering at least 4lbs. 4lbs plus the hazmat fee would come up to roughly $100-110 and is about what I'd pay locally for it. I just made my first online powder purchase last month and ordered 34-35lbs, no point in repeatedly paying a hazmat fee every 6 months if you can afford to order a bunch of it now. If you bought an 8lb jug of that powder it's $136.35+hazmat fee. Buying it in 1lb containers adds $13, but they're not listing 8lb'ers. But ordering 8lbs in 1lb containers would still be less than $200, cheaper than I can find it locally.

Stick with PV. A lot of others say they have it in stock, but you order it and end up cornholed on Backorder Alley.

I also use V-V N140 and N150, they are a bit pricier ($4-$8/lb) but tend to be in stock at our local walk in, because no one really uses them because they never worked up loads with them before the shortage because they cost more... They are a very consistent powder.

VihtaVuori also has a free load manual for their powders through the Lapua website.

I like Varget, because it works for my .308 Win M70s, and for my M1As, exact same load even. Varget is one of the powders recommended for M14, M1A-style rifles.

Local gun shops are the best bet. If you can 'beat the streets' you will probably find what you're looking for. With so many people getting email updates and facebook messages it is hard to buy online unless you are watching it all the time.

I had to go to 4 different shops last weekend but I did find what I needed. I don't like paying $26/lb. and $3.45 gal. for gas but don't have much choice. One greedy gun shop here has W296 in stock for $37/lb. ! They need it more than I do. I won't be forgetting about that place for awhile.

I think that the local shop that sells you a gun every so often is more willing to hold you a lb. or give you a call when it comes in. Even if you pay a couple bucks more for it, it will be a benefit to all.

Post #33 about the Vihta Vuori powders. Sure it's a bit more expensive, but it's really good powder. And . . . you'll have an easier time getting it in a crunch over Varget and the IMR/Hodgdon/Accurate stuff.

It really doesn't cost that much more per round to load 160-some rounds of .308 with a V-V powder than the more "traditional" ones. Even if you pay $8.00-10.00 more per pound for V-V it's only about .05-.06 cents more per round.

Local shops for those of us behind the iron curtain are not the best bet; we always order online, and do a group order with several others from our club. The savings in sales tax often exceeds the expense of shipping and Haz-Mat, when ordering in bulk.
As for .308, I use stick powders (4895, 4064, etc.) when weighing charges, and ball powders (748, 2230, 2520, etc.) when using the XL650.

My go to is Varget but with a word of caution, I get excessive pressure well below published max but it shoots so good I don't mind using a starting load. 45gr is as high as i go with 150s I cannot get near Nosler's 48.5gr max my bolt stuck at 46.5gr. W748 worked really well for me too. and I had some promising results from RL15 as well. Sadly the load I was really hoping would work (Big Game and a 165gr SGK) was a flop my 308 does not like anything in 165-168gr which is weird because it shoots 150 and 180gr just fine.

wcc846? do you also use this in 30.06 maybe 300 rem ultra mag?
WC846 is the none canister version of BL-C(2) so any cartridge you can use it in you can use WC846 in.

WC846 will work very well in the 30-06 but in the 300 RUM, that's another matter. WC846 is way too fast a powder for use in the 300 RUM.
