I have a badly chewed feed ramp on a lightweight Springfield Compact lightweight model, and I'm told the only real fix is a steel one put in. What smith do you folks recommend for this work, and how much is it gonna cost me?

Steel insert on aluminum feed ramp..

Chuck Rogers at Rogers Precision does them as well. He is working on mine now.

Check the back posts for me, 1911Tuner, or Rogers Precision and you will find more information regarding the insert procedure.

For what its worth, Chuck Rogers charged me 135.00. Mr. Rogers is a small shop craftsman and takes pride in doing a job well.

You might also want to take a look at his 'Sandbox Model' thread in this forum.
