Montana woman fights bear using courgette [zucchini]

    Some argue that acorn squash
is more appropriate for black bear,
    while minimalists use summer squash.

For griz, the recommended vegetable is spaghetti squash.

    Polar bears require pumpkins.

That's ok. I'm just making the point that if you forget the .44 mag
when going out to the garden, pick up a squash.

Frankly this should be in Strategies and Tactics. Never stop fighting for your life if things get to that point.

Absolutely! I would use a tomato if that is all I had. Add some lettuce and the bear could also have a salad if I lost.

Anything at hand will do. Root-veggies have better BC.
Save the carrots for close-in work.
I've been known to lob apples as well.

If I couldn't get to my pea shooter, I'd go for Brussels Sprouts.

Normally, we eat what’s in our gardens. On rare occasion, what’s in our garden wants to eat us.

so, I'm looking for some gun related component to this thread. Otherwise, it'll understandably soon be closed.

There is none to be had, and the thread was silly and inappropriate from the git-go.
