Olympus - I figured that if funds allowed that you would want to do both. 
The double stack Para would fit the bill for .45 and you already have .45 ammo/components. Only thing to consider there would be if you feel it is comfortable (some with smaller hands might not like a double stack 45).
The AR pistol with an option to SBR would fit into what you have (a consecutive serial numbered AR lower). Plus if you go the SBR route then you could use other short barreled uppers in the future (if you want to go with different calibers).
Now if you want a 9mm pistol - I still recommend a Browning Hi-Power.
I know it doesn't make the decision any easier, but hopefully funds allow for more than one option.
