Do you carry fixed or folding ? Lock blade or slip joint ? Answer in the poll. Please respond in the comments with more details.

Mainly I carry a sub-4" fixed blade because that is what the law was here in TN for a long time. Really, a 4" general-purpose droip Point hunter, mini-Gepheart, spear-point, drop-point, bushcrafter, etc is an extremely useful blade for utility, self-defense, hunting / skinning, etc.

Prefer a canoe for most of the time. A tiny toothpick for special occasions, an Eisenhower or old school Buck for paternal family functions (my grandparents wedding gifts to each other, the knives have been a pair since the early 50s, sometimes I carry one in each pocket), but for now, I carry my flyknife. The little pliers and a tight zip tie make for a decent vice on which to tie or repair a fly. Bass and panfish on the fly are a ball. Never got into trout, but I should since I live in trout territory now. It’s a $11 rough rider bought in frustration at the lack of selection for a canoe.

I carry any manner of assisted opening Kershaw folder for utility use. I carry an RJ Martin 5"Kwaiken IWB for other purposes.

I usually carry a locking knife (right this minute it's a Spyderco Worker) and a mini SAK which I use primarily for the scissors & toothpick. So both a locking knife and a slipjoint.

Actually, lately I've been carrying a larger knife than the Worker, but that knife has a very strong lock and I'm fighting some tendonitis in my thumb and wanted to give it a little bit of a rest.

Locking folder, generally 2.5 to 3.5 inches. I answered 2 to 3 inches because that's what I have more of, and what my most recent purchase was.

3.75" to 4" locking folders mostly, though I go with a fixed blade (ESEE Izula II or ESEE 3 and 4 are favorites) when hiking, fishing, hunting or otherwise outdoors ...

I carry a 3.5" cold steel ultimate hunter. I like the blade, lock is good. If I had my druthers though, I'd prefer a thinner blade, makes slicing tomatoes easier. Good knife for spreading peanut butter:)

I used to tote my "grandpaw" knife,(grandsons label) my 3 bladed Old Timer. Then I had to have wrist surgery and while in the cast I got a 1 hand opening, lock blade Kershaw. Since recovery I usually tote the Kershaw but still grab the old timer on occasion.

My EDC knife is a Leatherman Skeletool. It carries like a knife, clipped in my left front pocket. The blade can be opened/closed one handed and the multi-tool functions covers about 95% of what I need a multi-tool for on a daily basis. Single best knife and multi-tool I have every owned.

I have been carrying the SOG Flash 2 that my wife got me for Christmas 3 years ago. It has performed flawlessly for me.

Usually some Zero Tolerance folder in the 3-4" range. Today it's a 350 since it's my work knife. Pair it with a Leatherman Rebar and a little flashlight, and there isn't much I can't do.

Cold steel talon “double agent”

Great tool, which the addition of the carabiner clip aka bottle opener makes even better.

I like a quality locking folder right around 3.5 inches. Usually just a plain old drop point.

I have a little leaning towards Spyderco's compression lock, but any of the common lock designs are good enough for EDC if you ask me. Again, we are talking about quality knives here. A cheap Chinese liner lock I probably wouldnt trust.

In my pocket currently is a Kershaw Launch3. But often times its a PM2 or Endura, or a Benchmade 940.

my normal carry is a CS Vaquero XL (5.5 inch blade) which was the replacement for the 2xl Voyager clip point which was stolen by security when I was hospitalized for an ulcer

I picked 2" - 3" folder because my EDC for the past few weeks has been a Benchmade North Fork with a 2.97" blade. But I also carry a Benchmade Griptillian on the weekends when I'm working on the farm, and I have a 940 Osborne (3.4" blade) that I carry in lieu of the North Fork sometimes.

Gerber multitool, and occasionally a Gerber skeleton folder. Got them as gifts from an old boss and they both suit me perfectly.
Most of the time it's just the multitool, because it's just so much more useful. The clip-on folder occasionally goes for a ride when I want to look less workmanlike when I'm out and about.
