What vehicle do you use for range trips.

2008 4Runner Sport 4x4

I picked it up especially for shooting. My car would barely make it into the desert, and I have a Winchester hard case that never fit in my trunk. So I had to transport it in the back seat. No more troubles anymore :D

Well gas has forced me to leave my 98' 4runner in the driveway. Now I truck it out to ranges in the area with my wife's old 94' Honda Civic Coupe (Pink Gentleman, That's right I take a Pink Civic to the range)

Well since its a bit of a drive down the highway me and my g/f's dad usually take his car... and yes i picked out the rims lol... all you bow tie lovers should see the sound systems I put in this thing.

1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Low mileage and solid. Sense I take multipule rifles and gear to my private range it beats a pick up all to heck. Essex

97 Geo Metro, holds my rifles & pistols & ammo & bench rest. Gets 40+ mpg and its paid for, I'm not really conserened with boosting Exon/Mobil profitts any higher.

I load up my "arsenal" in my Prius Hybrid with the "Kerry '04" and "Visualize World Peace" bumperstickers.

Man does that confuse the hell out of them at the range! :)

-'05 Dodge Ram QC Hemi, Black
-Superchips programmer
-33" Nitto Terra Grapplers
-17" Procomp 1069's
-2" Tuff Country leveling kit
-3x5" Cafepress Gadsden sticker on the back windshield

2004 Hyundai Sonata.

Trunk on this thing holds every gun I own and has no trouble accomodating my Mosin 91/30 to be laid in straight and flat. I've loaded 4 others in the car with myself, ammo, and long guns in the back with no problems

I tell her I need a part for the emission/smog system and the shop will have to test several sensors to determine which is causing the problem ... might take a couple hours.

Sometimes California helps without knowing it .... tough air quality standards here make this game work.

Actually, I had an awakening when I was driving my modded S2000 with a Mosin hanging out the passenger window...it was definitely time to switch to a truck.

I prefer to take my 97 mustang because of the distances I have to drive to get to ranges but some of the gravel roads are so rough I will take my truck. The mustang is lowered about an inch and half and it is a convertible so the cross braces bottom out real easy.

I only have one truck, but I bought it specifically because it can go anywhere and do anything.

It's an '05 Toyota Tacoma Sport 4WD. I love it.

Here it is changing targets on the 200 yard range.

And here it is on the beach at Spring Creek Offroad Park.

Oh yeah. Good thread. I've got a compact right now. It's good. And yes it is paid for too. What a relief.
But my next vehicle is definitely going to be an AWD or a 4x4. Speed is good but handling is even better.

Interesting method of keeping the thread on topic. :)

I used to drive my '90 Toyota pickup (250K+ miles) and she still runs great...but I've recently been taking my Mazda 6 as it has a huge trunk, can fit more people in it, and there's no offroading necessary to get to my 'range'.

Of course, it looks more green than black right now.
