Childhood memories are the best! On my 6th birthday my grandma gave me a cap gun set with belt and holsters. No longer have them 50 years later but I can still visualize them. First BB gun was a Daisy pistol from Santa at age 8. I had lots of fun shooting tin cans and putting BB holes in the windows of an old chicken house on our family farm. :D We sure entertained ourselves differently than they do today and it was a blast! :) High Tech then was a black & white TV and a record player!

Nylon Model 66

I shot my dad's guns at a tender age, but my 1st very own came late 50's or early 60's. I was about 9 or 10 yrs old.

my first "gun" was an airsoft pistol. A heavyweight p99. With a mock silencer. Just like James bond. I was 12 I think. My parents don't own guns, so it was up to me to become interested and get involved on my own. I guess if you count water guns I had a green plastic water pistol when I was 6 or so, and a couple super soakers when I was 9. I had a cap pistol, a snub-nose .38 lookalike made out of clear plastic, that used those ring caps too. I forget how old I was, it was when I was when I lived in Chicago. I bought it myself at a Mexican grocery store down the street from my house. I was probably 9 or 10. I think I still have it.

Mossberg Model 183D .410 bolt action shotgun. My parents bought it for me when I was 12. Shot lots of pheasants with it. I still have it 58 years later.

I have probably a million water guns, and a million cap guns as a kid.

Literally maybe 100.

My first BB gun was given to me by my dads friend, a beeman single shot pistol. Then i got the daisy.

Dipped into airsoft guns while in taiwan (was a big thing there before i ever saw any of them here).

Red Ryder BB gun around 8 yeards old great gun for making rats mad at the local city dump.

In 1967 my father took me to Bob Racine Sports in Putnam Ct. and bought a 5" mod. 27. My dad died 4 years ago and every time Itake that S&W out to shoot I think of him. Great dad and a great guy.

Around age 8 or 9 I was a big Hopalong Cassidy fan. Guess I wasn't hard to shop for that Christmas as I got about seven cap guns in one swoop.

Obviously the start of something big there.

Best one was a fairly close duplicate of a 7 1/2" SA Colt from my uncles. That was one cool gun.

My first gun was...a rubber band gun. I was deadly on flies.Sounds funny, but that gun taught me good lessons about sight alignment and "squeeze the shot off" technique.
I also remember my "Fanner 50" cap guns.
Then there were several BB guns. My favorite was the Daisey mod. 25.
About the same time, ten years old (1950) Dad gave me a Savage, mod 24 in .22/410. A kid could hardly find a better gun. Rifle and shotgun combo. I hunted with that gun until...last year! I will pick it up again next year...so, the beat goes on!

The first one I remember well was a plastic toy gun bought from the local High's convenience store in Westminster, MD when I was probably 8 or 9, so 20-and-a-few years ago. I'm sure I had some cap guns before that.

The plastic gun was pretty neat, in fact -- held 11 shots of plastic orange ammo (round-ended hollow cylinders, perhaps half-inch long -- not spheres) , which fit in a detachable single-stack magazine. Double-action only :) One of my favorite toys for a long time!

This doesn't count the plastic-bullet-firing toy watch that I got in Cape May, NJ, when I was 6 or 7. That sure was a neat one!

My First gun was an 1851 Colt Navy Replica.

I was 15ish when I bought it from a questionable guy. My dad found it and put it up. Later on he let me keep it thinking that because it was BP It was harmless. I had a lot of fun with that gun. I bought several other BP Pistols and Rifles before I was 18. I was thankfull for them. I was 17 when I first started living on my own.

My first gun was a pump action Daisy when I was about ten and not too long later a Benjamin pump.
My first REAL hand gun was a .32 cal spur trigger Sat. night special called a Red Cloud. It was given to me by a lady in Claremore OK. whose home we were staying in because there were no other available rooms in town. That night my dad and I were visiting a hotel down town that contained a big gun collection and the owner of the hotel sold me an 1860's springfield musket for $5. He had a big box full of them. This was in about 1941. I was one very happy 12 yr. old.

8 months ago, for good grades I walked into a gun store and handpicked a Russian SKS which my dad paid for/did paperwork for.

The first gun I recall shooting when I was all of 5 was my dad's S&W 22. The first gun I ever owned was a Marlin 22 bolt action rifle bought for me by my father and I still have it. My first and only shotgun is a Mossberg 500 12 gauge which was my fathers before he gave it to me. Once I got my pistol permit my first pistol, also purchased for me by my father was a Beretta 92.

Now that I think about it, Dad's been good to me.

My first gun was one of those cap guns. I remember pointing it at my grandmother and shooting it. She pretended to be dead, and I started to cry my little five year old A$$ off. I don't think I have ever pointed a gun of any kind at anyone since.

I had some cap and water pistols when I was a kid, shot some air guns and .22s in the Boy Scouts, but I bought my first "real" gun when I was 21. It was a Glock 19, I bought it myself, and my folks didn't know (I was living in their house at the time, and kept it secured in a small safe).
