Colt SAA 2nd generation in .44 Special. Missing the original grips, but was otherwise in excellent condition. I felt good about it at $600. Shoots great. Doubt I'll ever sell it.

Bought a Rem 788 NIB at a gunshow for $112. Seller tossed in a box of Win. SuperX 180gn Silvertips. (Deal was circa 1983.) Still a pretty good buy. Still have the gun, too.

Picked up a Browning Hi Power for $360 on Gunbroker. In great shape with target sights. A 1985 model.

At a Tanner gun show got a safe queen S&W Model 27-2 with the 3 1/2 inch barrel for $425.

Traded a Winchester 30-30 and $200 and got a 1949 Winchester Model 70 in 30-06 from a shooting range in Denver.

So many guns, so little time:D

WASR 10 Aklone with 3 mags for 220otd at a pawn shop

Charter Arms Off Duty .38 snubby for 100 otd at the same pawn shop

3 Marlin Model 60 .22's for 100 bucks, different pawn shop

Crackshot Model 16 for 40 bucks at a flea market

picked up a an old 3" rossi m68 made by interarms around '91. only marks were on the cylinder where it sat against the bottom of a drawer for the last 21yrs. i'm pretty sure it was made around that time beacause it came with 73rds with 8/91 date on boxes. best $100 i've spent in a long time.

Have not gotten many great deals lately. One of my best was in the mid-1990's when I picked up a NIB 2.5" Colt Diamondback 22 for $400. They were selling for about $900 then as opposed to the $3000 these days.

I bought 2 guns from a customer. Neither of us knew anything about them.

1st was a .410 shotgun. A no name Italian company that folds in half to stuff in a pack. It's an awkward gun to shoot.

2nd was a .32 top break H&R from pre 1914. I gave them $60 off the bill for both guns. I sold the .32 for $250 on gun broker! I still have the .410. Almost gives me a black eye when I shoot it though.

A few years back, I picked up a NIB, with papers/tool, unfired S&W Model 37 (no-dash) snubbie for $275. That was probably my best score ...

Hard to say. I picked up a beautiful Turkish Mauser for $250. I also picked up an excellent sporterized German Mauser, also for $250, and a Romanian SKS for $275. In the latter two cases, the reserve price on the auction was not met, but I contacted the sellers afterwards and arranged a deal. The German Mauser originally had a reserve price of $350, so I'd say I definitely got a steal there, particularly since she still shoots 1 MOA with the original military barrel.

There's also my all-matching, bright-bore Mosin Nagant I bought off a private seller at the gun show for $75 a few years ago. It came with all the accessories and 20 rounds of ammunition.

I had a Ruger 44 SuperBlackhawk on order with my LGS. When I went to pick it up I saw an original 44 Flat-Top on commission for about the same price. It appeared to be unfired.

Turns out it was the 1 yr only 7 1/2" Flat-Top that is the Jewel in any Ruger collection. There were only about 700 of these made. I paid less than $300

My best deal was threw various Craigslist swaps first I bought a 55gal fish tank fulls set up on there for $125 kept a few oscars and a gar in it for maybe 8months. Put the same tank+ the fish on CL and simply stated will trade for hunting gear. 4hrs later I had an offer on a BNIB Rem. 1100 20ga with 3 chokes and 10 boxes of ammo and a nice leather sling. I drove 45 minutes to do the swap and walked away with a new set up for the wife though I drew blood with it first on a doe lol. All in all I had maybe 170 invested in the tank set up fish and gas to get there and back I'd say I made out good. Then my wife turned around and sold the gun to her dad for 400 but its still hers he just gave us money to keep it at his house pretty much hes never even fired it.

An old model Pardini SPE .22 target pistol with a hard case, extra mag & sights + tools for 270 euros. It had a problem with the bolt locking catch that required only a few file strokes to fix. Now it's my main competition gun for standard and sports pistol: super accurate, reliable and butter-smooth to shoot.

Traded a live chicken for a non-functioning Ruger standard Mk1, then sent it to Ruger, where it was fixed for free. So now I have a perfectly functioning mk1 for next to nothing.

    Let's see -
    A like new 357 mag /20 ga Savage 24 for $125

A Ruger #1 in 375 H&H with a Leupold 2.5-8x Vari-x III scope for $675. Kicked more than I wanted to put up with, so I sold it for $675. Kept the scope for free.

Like new Marlin 1895 in 45-70 for $250. I was looking for a 444, but at that price....

A Voere 2115, worth about $400. Bought it off the cheap 22 rack because it had been sold by Sears and had a tiny "Ted Williams" stamp on the barrel. Paid $99 for the "Sears 22".

    and finally:

    DSCF1870.jpg

S&W Model 34 older model 22 mint condition.

Best deal was 20 years ago, bought a 'broken' cat 9 LNIB for $50. Took a pair of needle nose and fixed the mag lips ( a common problem on these guns ). Went back
to the gunshow and traded it for a LNIB ruger mark II, stainless goverment target. Will never sell that gun.

Traded a sporterized p14 Enfield in .458 (bought for $120) for a pps-41 (never shot it though. I have a bad habit of trading all my guns for different guns on whims).
