Whatcha payin for percussion caps?

I just get mine at walmart. Was just Black Powder season here in KY with another coming in December. They usually have the remingtons for about $6.00 and after december, they go on sale. I usually pic up a years supply by going with the wifey and dropping them into the basket during this time of year. Little things usually go unnoticed

RWS and Dynamit Nobel are the same company. They are good quality caps; they tend to be between No. 10 and No. 11's, favoring the larger size a bit.

I like Remingtion #10 caps for my revolvers they are 5.95/100 at Bass Pro Shops. I been using Big Bang plastic toy caps for my 50 cal rifle they barely fit a #11 nipple and fit a #10 nipple well. They work real well in my rifle with Pyrodex or Goex. I bought a whole bunch last year at the dollar store for1.00/320

Thanks Mykeal ..I thought I had heard the 2 companys were one in the same these days . I`ve also heard they have improved on quality ...Back in my early days , I didn`t care much for these caps I use to buy these at DixieGunWorks way back when in the 70`s ...but after useing a tin of these ..Big Improvement ...and the price is right .

How do you use Big Bang caps on a rifle? Are you making your own caps or what?

Their is i think eight caps in a circle you break them off one at a time and use them like CCI caps. They are for toy cap guns. They are a bit small for #11 nipples but you can stretch them on. They #10 nipples good.

Are these the RWS caps you folks are referring to?



They are dirt cheap (less than $3.00 per 100) around here. I got 100 to try on my 58 Remington NMA. If they work I'll be stocking up.

Not to hijack the thread but does anyone know what size caps (RWS or CCI) a Uberti Walker takes? I may be picking a used one up this week, if its still there. Saw one last week for a decent price and should have grabbed it. Hopefully I'll get my grubby little paws on 'er this week!!

Yes, those are RWS caps.

My two Walkers (one Uberti, one ASM) both take CCI No. 10 caps, although the fit is pretty tight; they can require some extra force to seat them as fouling builds up. The RWS caps work well also.

My two Uberti Walkers and Dragoon all take the Remington #10 cap perfectly (nice, easy snug up).

Uberti Walkers, Uberti Rem NMAs, ASM 44cal '51 Navies, Pietta 44cal brass frame '51 Navy, & Treso nipples.

The CCI#11s fit the Uncle Mike's/Butler Creek replacement nipples, ASM 44cal '51 Navies, & Thunder Ridge SS replacement nipples (not Treso)

The Remington#10 caps fit everything.

Thanks Hellgate, hopefully this time tomorrow I'll be the owner of brand spankin new (new to me) Uberti Colt Walker. Heading north about 75 miles. There is a nice gun shop there I check out frequently. It was there last week. Keepin my fingers crossed!
