What would be a good selling price for my XDm 9mm that I purchased on December 27th? It as 600 rounds through it, both WWB and BB and it will eventually have 4 magazines and everything in else with case for sale. Just curious.

I like to use gunbroker as a fair market value indicator. You can see what current auctions are going for, or sign in and view completed auctions to see what has sold and what has not.

I may sell it and pursue another hobby thats more my style.
what hobby is more your style? is this your only gun? are you giving up guns all together? if so maybe you should let us talk you out of getting rid of it.

This is my first gun ever, but after some personal reflection, im not sure if I want to continue doing it.

is there anyway that we could change your mind, we need every gun owner that we can get right now, we are already out manned, and out gunned, no pun intended. this is not a good time.

450-500

Imo it is worth 550 at the most, but if they pass another awb it will be worth more and you would be advised to sell the mags as a sepeerate transaction.

hey guys, i appreciate that yall are "helping" him out by giving him ideas on how much to sell it for, but we need to try to keep this guy in the community. like i said we need everyone that we have. it is hard enough to get new people involved, and especially people to actually buy and own guns, we don't need to loose any.

Freezebyte, don't do it man. You'll regret it, I promise. Especially in these times to come. My wife definetly doesnt consider guns one of her 'hobbies' but would die before she sold her SD pistol. Take up another hobby but hold on to your means of self-defense.

byte,
if you do not have a means to protect yourself then who will? the police? when only seconds count they are minutes away!

don't be a sheep and wait to be prayed on, man from the begining of time has had to protect himself against something, animals, beasts, and now in this day in age thugs, thiefs, rapists etc.

do you wear your seatbelt when you drive? yes why? are you expecting to get in a wreck, or do you wear it beacuse you might get in a wreck?

do you have life insurance? same thing.

a fire extinguisher? same thing.

medical coverage? same thing

I almost promise I have more hobbies than most in this forum.

running, lifting, writing, reading, dogs, hunting, hiking, mountain biking, coin collecting, building bikes, and on and on.

Trust me: Selling from one to support another never works out in the end.

You can always make a hobby cheaper somehow.

Freezebyte,

I respect you for whom you are, despite the fact we have never met.
So I respect your reasons, whatever they are, for wanting to sell your first, and only handgun.

If there is a reason you wish to not post in public, I am extending the offer to PM me, if you wish to discuss this more private.
What is shared with me, stays with me.
Folks that know me, and there are those here as members of THR, that can attest to the fact, our PMs stay[ed] private.

Owning a firearm is a huge responsibility, it really is. My concern is there may be a time, when matters become serious for you and yours, and having a handgun would be a very useful tool in the tool box.

It does not have to be this XDm 9mm, though that is nice gun, it is paid for, and the ammunition is affordable and easy to come by.

I really hope you and yours never have a serious situation arise, I really do.
That said, events such as tornadoes, hurricanes, flooding, fires, and ice storms with power outages and all that can and does come with these...

A handgun, than can be carried concealed, has proven to not only be a very comforting tool also a more serious tool to protect you, yours and what is you and yours.

I am extending this offer, and if you are not comfortable with me, that is fine.
There are others here that will extend the same offer as I.

Including Staff.

Sending best-

Steve

I see now also. Freezebyte, hold on to it for now. Sleep on the thought.

See if you can find a Private shooting club or range in your area that has more to offer than just a place to shoot. Assemble with like minded people who were once or still are in your shoes.

You have yourself an outstanding gun. To sell it now would only lose you money.

Take some time and think about it. Whether or not you plan to sport shoot, or hunt, or just plink, everyone should have at least one.

At the very least, it will always protect you and your family.

Freezebyte,

I agree that looking at some of the online sites like Gunbroker is the best way to arrive at a fair price, if you want to sell your pistol.

And I also agree that the decision to sell it or keep it is a very personal one. It's yours to make, for your own reasons. You should do what you think best, your primary responsibility is to yourself in this issue.

Regards,

lpl

"I hear you. You're not alone. Let's talk to someone I know. He's heard some of this stuff. I know it can be interesting. But never-mind the "no guns" stuff. Look, all we got to do is talk to the guy. He might convince you to let go of the "no guns" thing, or he might not. Not my thing, I don't know. But let's get off this ledge, already; whattaya say?"

For a new one they are around $575-600, at least that is what I paid for mine. I would say used for $500 or a little more.
I really hope you continue to be a gun supporter even if you do sell the firearm. Best of luck with your decision.
