A friend at work, knowing I'm a gunnie, asked me about a pistol he's heard about.
He called it a PT-29 in 9 mm.

I'm thinking some numbers got mixed up somewhere along the line.
Taurus uses the PT designator on all their semi-autos, but they don't have a 29 that I can find.

That being said, I'm sure there's some obscure Czech, Chinese, or some other eastern european 9mm out there that I don't know about.

    Anyone?

Could it possibly be a Taurus PT-92?

    I thought the same thing.

    Perhaps a Taurus PT-92 or 99.

I just don't want to tell him "no joy" and have him whip out some obscure 30-yr-old chinese pistol I've never heard about.

well, there's a glock 29, a taurus PT-22, Sig P229(9mm, could be), and an AR-24, but the PT-92 is the most likely.

oh, i guess the glock is a 10mm. since there is no PT-29 on this page, http://world.guns.ru/handguns/hg00-e.htm, it probably doesn't exist.
