Both will be good, but the Axis does not have the Accutrigger.

Get the one with an Accutrigger, you will not believe how good they are till you try one.

Not even close. The Savage is the far better rifle in evey way.

Go with the 11 the Accutrigger is worth every extra cent, not to mention you can tweak it later if you want, but there is little aftermarket for the Axis.

You questions are not bad but in looking at your posts and your occupation I wonder if you are old enough to own anything you are asking about.

That said, Savage has come a long way but a lot of that has to do with the Accutrigger and well worth the additional expense.

Every single rifle I have ever used has at leased one glaring flaw, and the Savages are no exception (they have three) but for their price point they are at leased tied for the best value rifle on the market today. I might do an in depth review soon covering their forte and flaws, I have owned a half dozen of them so obviously I think their strengths outweigh their weaknesses.

The 111 is quite a bit better. They aren't even in the same league.

Go buy the model 11 Wal-Mart special. Rifle with accutrigger, cheap scope, rings, and bases for under $400 you cannot beat that.

Get the 11 without the accutrigger. Upgrade as desire and finances allow, including the trigger. The Accutrigger is a good trigger. The one I have adjusts and is very sweet, but ... it's on a target rifle. If I don't address the trigger right, or don't cycle the bolt just right, it disengages the trigger. I won't have that kind of a trigger on a hunting rifle or a serious rifle. Target rifle, sure. It's nice and I like it, but there are other triggers that don't cost more that work at least as well, and don't do that.

You need to send that rifle back to Savage.

I am a Savage 10 & 11 lover. I had a chance recently to try my buddy's new Axis... NOPE not for me. It seemed bulky and gripped wierd.

Both the Axis and 110 are more accurate than the average shooter. If you can shoot 2 inch groups offhand at 100 yards you can make use of the 110. Other wise I would just get an axis. Especially if cost is a consideration.

The 110/111/114/116 is a rifle you will love for life the Axis is a rifle you can live with until you can afford something better. I have some much higher end guns then my Savages but still enjoy my 110s.
