I have to say, thats a pretty unique system. It strikes me as being a little bit like having a mini inflatable raft as a backup inside a canoe
I am a big guy. My Ruger LCR 38 special in a cargo pocket is totally comfortable, not heavy enough to sag the pocket very much, and it's easy to draw sitting or standing. The pocket holster has to fill the pocket properly. I wear my Ruger LCPII 380acp in the breast pocket of a winter cover garment. That might work with a summer cover garment if the fabric was stiff enough? It would be extremely easy and comfortable to carry IWB or OWB. I am used to small handguns and can shoot it well enough for SD purposes. It's the pistol I carry when I can't carry a pistol. That’s EXACTLY what I did when I went from the charter 38 to the Ruger EC9s. The Ruger carries very well. 5’10” and 290lbs. Cargo shorts most days. Even my customers who know I carry can’t see the gun riding in my pocket.
I carry an M1911 (A Kimber Custom Classic, 30 years old) in a Simply Rugged pancake holster that I modified into a tuckable IWB holster.
Quote' Looking to upgrade from my J frame to something easily concealable in shorts and t shirt on a fat man. I'm your guy. Kel-tec .380 w/spare mag works for me.
I Carry a Zastava 7.62x25mm M57 loaded with PPU hollow point bullets in an OWB holster I made. I carry two more 9rd magazines on my left side loaded with steel core bullets.
A friend needed money. I planned to sell it and then began shooting it. I liked it so much I bought the stainless version. I wear it at about the 4 O'clock position. I also load with JHP. It just plain works for me. Ron
DAO SP101 or 640 pro Appendix in a suede clip holster. 145grn GT HP with 6.5grn Universal, just under 1100fps, controllable and (most likely) effective.
Either a PSA Dagger or a Walther PPS. Both in holsters made by White Hat. The PPS carries much easier on hotter days.
S&W got it right along time ago, https://www.thehighroad.org/index.php?attachments/guns-003-jpg.119557/
Same here except my CZ is a P-01. Never without my 642 though. Hell, I had it in my pocket in the delivery room at the hospital when my daughter was born (full disclosure: it was a "surprise" c-section and I kinda forgot I still had it)
Kind of leaning toward a G19 or something between the G19 and shield. I kind of feel like the shield is too small when in a holster to get a good grip.
I agree. 365xl, Glock 43x or 48, Hellcat Pro all are a great size for me. Easier to conceal than a 19 (if only barely, still more comfortable IMO) and shoot nearly as well. I had gotten the 365xl just for hot summer days, but it quickly took over carry full time for me.
Try it with the 8-round (or 13 if it's a Plus) magazine. The shorter magazines are too small for me; the larger ones make the gun fit as though it were made just for me. The G19 is very popular for a reason. I don't own one any more, but it's a solid choice for CC.
I tried a G19 tonight with one of these holsters and it printed pretty good. I also had a looser shirt on. I don’t like IWB holsters. Maybe I’ll try a thumb break and see if it helps.
FWIW, my go-to OWB holster is a DeSantis Speed Scabbard. I carried my G19 in a Galco, umm . . . Combat Master? Not sure, but it was very similar to the Speed Scabbard.
Reminds me of a Yaqui. Only issue I ever had with the style is, if you’re not careful, when you sit down in a chair you might “pop up” your pistol because the muzzle hits the seat.
