What's in Your Pocket?

Beretta Pico (second version). Underappreciated, accurate, high-quality gun (like most Berettas). Although I don't use Buffalo Bore or Underwood, I like that Beretta says the gun is sturdy enough to handle them.

Gave up on my Kahrap P380. Great little pistol in theory, but by far the most problematic handgun I've ever owned in practice.

Oh cool! A pocket dump! I usually wear cargo shorts so tons of space. I have my money clip(rarely have cash in it), Swiss army knife, mini flashlight, mini expandable baton, .357 speed strip, my 586 in a remora sticky holster, an e-cig, plus my phone. Keys are on a belt loop

The Diamondback DB9 is as big as I can fit into a pocket. The Kahr CM9 is too big for my pockets.

The CZ in .25 acp was my first pocket gun. The NAA Guardian replaced when it was introduced. Then the LCP which was my first pocket gun of decent power and didn't feel like a block of lead in my pocket like the all metal NAA and CZ.

I carried my Keltec P32 everyday at work back when I went into the office. Now days I usually carry the LCP or DB9 when I go into town.

I started real pocket carry with a Kahr PM45. Then... added a PM9 for those occasions when I really had to go light. These days, its a Charter Boomer .44Special, or a SCCY CPX2.

It might sound like I'm all over the place with choice, but here's my thinking. I prefer a bigger hole maker, and insist on double action for safety sake. The Kahr 45 did the trick. It has a long medium heavy pull (but glass smooth). The Kahr 9 was good to go too. But... I tried the Charter, and _for me_ it draws better out of my pocket. Trigger is heavy, but 1000's of dry firings have smoothed it. I don't mind heavy. That little gun works well, and I shoot it almost every trip to the range. The bobbed hammer has been replaced with the one from the .45 Pitbull. I bobbed that hammer to make it more like the old Mag-Na-Port Backpacker. Its a little taller, and the rounded edge of that hammer makes the gun seem to glide outta my pocket. I bought the SCCY as an alternative to the Kahr, due to the larger capacity magazine. You hear all sorts of stories, but mine shoots perfectly well, and has never had so much as a hiccup. SCCY did replace my magazine springs for free when it was new to fix the hold open issue many had. Mine didn't have the issue, but they did it anyway.

I'd say most days, most times, its the .44 Boomer. It draws the best. And... I'm shootin' .44 Russians in it. Yah, I'm nuts.

Austin, I could not agree more with the Pico. Personally I think ounce for ounce one of the best Pistols made in it's class. I own three of them. I also own two Kahr P380's. Sorry you had bad luck. Mine have run great. Did a review a few months back and ran 200 rds with no problem on a new one I purchased. Both the Pico and Kahr are MILD shooting.

My P380 is an old one. I bought it in 2010, I think. I've seen a few mentions that Kahr has either improved a few parts on the gun in the intervening years, or that an aftermarket part or two can help -- or maybe both things. I can't remember any details, and I just haven't looked into it any further, but I should get around to that.

Lately, Ruger LCP 2 in .22lr goes into my pocket at home and for quick errands. Walther PPS Gen 1 in a kydex IWB for all other carry. Eventually a LCP 2 in .380 will find a way into my gun safe and pocket.

I wear Wrangler slim jeans. Not much room for anything in the pockets except a small Buck knife in one pocket and car keys in the other. Yeah, I could wear relaxed fit jeans for more pocket room but I hate to have to take two steps before my pants start to move plus I have enough trouble keeping the slims up around my waist. No baggy butt jeans for me.

"What's in Your Pocket?"

Nothing, I'm just happy to see you!

Seriously, not much. Keys, ceramic pocket knife, a little change, nail clippers, comb, and wallet.

Nothing else, including my cell phone, because I'm at work and can't have personal electronic devices where I'm at.

After work, my cell phone will go in a pocket.

And my carry is never in a pocket.
