What's my Colt 38. Special Worth

You started out O.K., but to get a correct value a lot more information is needed. Colt made: Army Special, Official Police, Police Positive, Police Positive Special, New Service, and more other models then you can shake a stick at. They did not, however, make a "Police Special."
It would be best to post a picture. Short of that give us the full markings on the side of the barrel. Is this revolver chambered in .38 Special or something else? How long is the barrel? Blue or some other kind of finish? What condition is it in? Condition plays a big part in what the value is.
So tell us what it really is ...
