We (me and my friends) used to call that design "Pipe barrel" Astras. I collect 7.65 Browning caliber pistols of the Art Deco period, so I have an Astra 300 in the proper bore size. Neat little pistol.

I presume 'short list' means those items I seek to obtain quicker than others, not a list of 'short' arms? I am somewhat embarrassed - after reading this thread - to realize what I seek are mostly oddities and items which tickle my fancy more than the sort of things one 'needs' to fill in gaps in actual use. But I am old (I started buying guns first) and have had a reasonable income.
1. An FN (Browning designed) model 1910 pistol in 7.65mm Browning. I have an example of the FN 1910/22, but not the original design.
2. A Webley semi-automatic pistol in .32 ACP. There are several variations, probably the London Metropolitan Police version had I my pick.
3. Any of several Ruger No. 1 rifles in certain calibers. .275 Rigby and 9.3x74mmR have come to my attention lately.
4. The Ruger M77 International version in select calibers. Again, .275 Rigby or one of the European metric calibers intrigue me.
5. A non NAZI marked Walther PPK in 7.65mm Browning.
Probably something else as well. I'll know it when I see it.
