What's the best buy in handguns today?

Kel-Tec's, Bersa's, any of the several Com-bloc 9x18 Mak such as the CZ mentioned, FEG P-64, etc. The Witness (Tanfoglio) pistols are exceptionally well made and inexpensive comparably. It really depends on if you want a sub-compact, compact or full size pistol. I lucked up and found a 9mm TZ99 which is a South African version of a CZ99, which is made by Zastava, and copied from a Sig 229.

For "best buys" its all about the used market. The CZ-82 is an obvious frontrunner there. Less than $200 for a completely modern handgun firing relatively cheap ammo is a no-brainer.

In brand new guns, as far as "bang for buck", I think the Ruger P95's are hard to beat for a basic working gun. I like the trigger on them better than the Sigma and they are utterly reliable. There are better guns out there but most either excel in an area that may not be of great importance to many shooters, or come in at significantly higher prices.
