What's the most overpriced firearm you've seen at a gunshow?

Myself: Mosin-Nagant M44 carbine for $400. Billed as a "rare Russian rifle". Must have been Stalin's personal weapon:D

Worst I have ever seen

I was at a gun show up in Minneapolis. There was a guy there with allot of Lorcins, and Jennings firearms. They were priced a little high for what a person gets, but the worst was a Russian Makarov that was beat all to hell he was asking $299 for. My local dealer is selling really nice Makarovs dor $119

Baby Browning, Blued, about 80%, nothing special, NOT rennaissance.

$900.00

Seller: High on Dope!

Colt Python, 4", blued, dragged thru gravel behind pick-up truck on a chain, "rare" 1964 model with a "K" prefix (huh???).

$1400.00

Seller: Mentally Challenged

Old Marlin 99 with a badly dinged cheap 4x scope, obviously bent barrel & mag tube, cracked stock for $225.

At the Crossroads of the West show last weekend I saw a Turkish Mauser going for the low low price of $225. Vendor probably didnt have much luck offloading that with the J&G sales table selling em for like $60.

The MOST? Hard to say, but I've seen $450 FEG hi-powers, a Colt Lawman in blue, nothing special, $375, a 6" M29-3 (the least desirable of them all, IMHO) for $650.

The worst deal I ever saw considered at a show was a kid about to trade his BAR in .30-'06 with Leupold VX-III straight up for a Remmy 700ADL synthetic w/ cheap scope up on see-thru mounts 'cause it was a 7mm by-golly Magnum and would kill more deer deader than his '06.

Glad he re-thunk it. I was almost tempted to intervene. Almost.

Pro'bly EVERYTHING!!!!!:what:

Or at least ANYTHING I take the time or interest to look at...:(

chinese AK Pre-ban with a 30 round mag an a paratrooper stock.

the guy wanted close to a thousand for it..........

i thought that was a little high correct me if im wrong

Not at a Gun Show, but I saw a Airsoft M16 that some sob wanted $1800 for....

The Manufacturer sells it directly for only $300....

How about 26 garnd for a BAR? Course it was made by Colt and was full auto.

Biggest mark-up I've seen was a FEG 2nd gen Hi-power for $450, there were other tables at the show selling them for $225.

I recall someone in my family actually paying $650 for a mini-14.

A guy at the OGCA recently had a double barrel, sxs, bolt action rifle that he wanted $230,000. It was interesting, but he probably bought it in Europe for about $15,000. There is another guy from Portsmouth, Ohio who has a lot of "collector grade" pieces. Unfortunately, his prices are about double what they should be. He sells to people who don't know any better.

Actually, depending on the variant, that might not be an unusual asking price. Some Polytechs trade well on the north side of the One-Kay mark these days.

Mine was an HK91 in outstanding shape with carry handle, shell deflector, three 20-rd mags & one 5-rd mag (all w/matching date codes), and both stocks for the princely asking sum of $2900. I beat him down a few hundred and bought the package. :uhoh:

EVERYTHING pre-ban. All those $500 guns with those $800 (err, $5..) bayo lugs (you'll die when TSHTF without a bayo!) and $800 (err, $30...) folding stocks (Gee, you can't - pick one - make that para jump, fight that CQB, shoot it the cool way like a pistol, without that FOLDER!)
To each his own, but I'll put the extra 1-2 grand into ammo and practice instead.

Best (worst?) I've ever seen was a set of four Perazzi shotguns, in 12ga., 20ga., 28ga. and .410, superbly finished, engraved, gold-inlaid and stocked. The asking price for the set? A mere $280,000.00...

(Did I mention that I didn't buy them? Left my credit card at home that morning... :D )

The last gunshow I was at, there was a guy sitting on the chairs in the middle of the show with a Chinese SKS. I was looking for an SKS at the time so I asked how much. I was thinking about $150 tops because the Yugo SKSs were selling for $99-150 at the time. He wanted $450 but he said he was willing to deal. I said that I didn't think I was even close and thanked him and walked.

BTW, I got a NEW never issued Yugo SKS for $149 delivered to my door a few weeks later. Those Chinese SKSs are really ugly and look like crap next to the Yugo.

I recently saw a HK94 that was in so-so condition ( w/ no extras, including mags) for the unbelievably low,low price of $5,500!!!! :what:

I told the seller that he should step away from his crack pipe! He wasn't amused. :uhoh:

SPAS-12, fixed stock, short mag tube, at an Indy 1500 a while back. $2200 and it could have been mine. I was packing around one of my SPAS with a folder, arm hook, long tube and spreader asking $1400...the guy didn't seem pleased by that fact.
