I think ANY long slide 1911 would be enough to discourage even the most determined perp. I know for sure that if somebody pulled one of them from beneath his/her coat and pointed it at me there'd be a big wet spot on the front of my pants!

I'm waiting on an STI Ranger to come in, and I've already paid for a LaRue Tactical OBR in 5.56 that should be here in the next couple of weeks. After that, maybe one more Single Six and then I'll have to be done for a while or I wolt be able to afford to shoot any of them.

I'm looking for a Remington 700 SPS Varmint in 308 when the funds are available. For a scope I'm too sure just yet although I do like my Nikon 6x-18x with target dot on my 700 VLS .223 maybe I'll get another one of these.

No idea. I've done quite a bit of horse trading in the last few months, and got rid of more guns that I added. I'm simplifying a bit now that I've gotten into reloading, and I replaced a couple of guns with similar models in cartridges I'm standardizing on. So I'm not really "in the hunt" for anything. Next purchases will probably either add to my reloading gear, or maybe scratch my itch for a suppressor.

All that said, if I tripped over a good deal on a 3" S&W 696, or even a Taurus 431, I might decide to go for it ...
