1957 Remington 870, 12ga Wingmaster shotgun.

I got this shotgun in original beat up condition to turn into a more modern "tactical" or "social shotgun". The gun now has ghost ring sights, a Surefire forend light and a full length pistol grip stock. Plus its been re finished.

Over all its a great gun. But then I'm very partial to 870's.

1878 springfield .45-70 trapdoor. Never been fired. Unfortunately my dad dropped it years ago and the stock cracked, but it was professionally repaired.

My Yugo M48A was made in the early fifties ('51?) which makes it more than twice as old as me.

All the rest of my guns (except my SKS) are new commercial manufacture

Grandfathers Winchester model 12...

My grandfathers Winchester Model 12 in 20 guage built back in 1928. This was his "deer slayer" rifle when he was growing up, then it was given to my uncle and was finally passed to me this Christmas. A true treasure in my opinion. It loves to kill clay pigeons!
The gun is in about 85%-90% condition. Medal has a nice petina and the wood is in awsome shape

My Grand fathers single shot 12ga. The only thing I can find on the gun is the faded word "IDEAL". I was about 9 when he passed away at 90 and I have been told he had the gun since he was young, So it has to be close to a Hundred years old or close too it.

I have a walther ppk stamped with a N and a crown over the N. Which I'll believe says that it was made pre-war 1941. Not for sure.

My oldest would be a Remington Model 1917 30.06 rifle made in, surprise! 1917. Second oldest is a Yugoslavian M59/66 SKS rifle, made in either the late '50s or early '60s, I assume.

Oldest handgun: Mauser Model 1910, in .25ACP, made in 1911. Taken off a German officer in WW1.

Oldest longgun: Prewar Walther .22 target rifle ("Meisterbusche" model, I believe is it's title) made about 1937.

The Mauser is basically retired, due to fear of breaking the various custom fitted leaf springs in the design. The Walther gets shot all the time, and is UNBELEIVABLY accurate with it's 26" barrel.

I also own a Mauser 1910 in .32 It was made in the 1916.
Wolff Springs company has a whole spring kit for the 1910 model.
Mine still shoots like a champion.

I also own a Walther M-4 in .32 it was made about the same time.
It needs a new slide. It sits pretty much in the safe as a relic.

It's amazing that once they were the cutting edge of firearms technology.

By the way Hello all My name is Restlessgun. I got tired of lurking so here I am!

Oldest pistol is a model 1917 S&W 45 acp. One of the Brazilian contract guns. Made in the '30s.

Oldest rifle is a Springfield single shot 22. My dad bought it new in 1929.

Original Colt 1860 Army found by my grandfather on a old plantation that was in Maryland. It's non-functional though.
Still functioning is my 1907 M96 Carl Gustav Swedish Mauser in 6.5x55. I would put that rifle up against most any hunting rifle today for accuracy.

Oldest gun that I have is my GGGrandfathers double-barreled shotgun (mid to late 1800's I believe). Story goes that GGrandpaw stopped w/ his family in a covered wagon (moving to Oklahoma) to shoot a pheasant for dinner. Gun was in the back of the wagon w/ the gun barrel pointing to the rear... when he pulled on the barrel to get the gun out, the hammers caught on bedding and the gun discharged -- killing him on the spot.

Finnish M39 Mosin-Nagant (7.62x54), receiver dated 1905. Made in Ivshevsk (sp?). Might have already been in Finland when the Finns broke away in 1918, since it still has the old Czarist two-headed eagle proof mark. (I think, but am not sure, that most czarist-era weapons in Russia were restamped with Soviet markings later.)

Rebarreled in 1942 at the VKT arsenal in Finland, and looks like it saw lots of action afterward (stock really beat up). Bore looks brand-new, though--whoever it was issued to took very good care of it. (I suspect he was the one that carved "E. T." in the rear sight base; I wish I knew his full name.)

Still shoots into 1 3/8" at 100 yards with Wolf 148-gr FMJ.
