My brother in law was a Commander in the CPD. He gave me his duty revolver. A S&W 4" Combat Magnum that he had nickel chromed. It looked terrible from bad cleaning and holster wear so I sent it to Ford's for a reblue. Before I got it back, he sadly passed and never saw the result.

Lots of guns I love, but only one that is a "spirit gun", meaning, as soon as I pick it up, it just feels right. Like the grip and heft is molded into my DNA. Almost a paranormal experience of a past life.

It's my Uberti 1873 Peacemaker in .45 Colt. I've been tempted to get a shorter barreled model; specifically the Uberti SASS Pro...

But, my current 1873 will have to suffice for now...

I wish I had my own firearm stories when I was growing up, but most of my immediate family is basically anti-gun. I find it surprising that when my father was in a boys military school, he was awarded sharp shooter twice, and yet, seems he never picked up a firearm after that. Seems odd I got all the gun loving genes.

Spirit rifle 03a3
Spirit auto loader 1911a1 ( my sometimes secondary weapon) (secondary mos 0331 [1919a4]) (Primary mos was (0311 ....rifleman..... but I already have the greatest battle implement ever invented a US rifle cal 30 M1.......but a BAR would be nice too )
Spirit revolver my dads. S &W 357 highway patrolman with a six inch barrel. Mom needed the money after dad passed in 76 so it got sold. (Still trying to track it down)
And just for fun I’d love a 9 mm artillery Luger and a Mauser C96 broomhandle.

In between all the gun purchases through the years, I've been wanting a Marlin 1894 in .357 magnum for maybe 25 years. For whatever reason, not once had I seen one in a gun shop when I had the cash . . . until this past January of 2020.

Sure, this version wasn't commercially available in the 1990s, but it was worth the wait.

I have a Win Mod 70 RMEF edition chambered in 300 WSM. Gorgeous wood on it. It absolutely kills every piece of game it’s pointed at. Darn accurate too. She’s my old trusty.

Those are beautiful! So is the leather.

It was around 1976 when a guy who was renting part of my dads shop showed me his Thompson Center Contender with a .222 barrel. To me, it was the most beautiful firearm I had ever seen.
At the time, I was not in a financial position to even consider buying one but I always remembered that gun.
Almost 40 years later, I stumbled across the one pictured below and just happened to have the cash on hand at the time, so it came home with me. IMG_4748.jpg

I have a several more expensive guns. but this is the one I will never part with.
