Have a couple of Baers, three Colts, a DW bobtail, a discontinued Kimber TLE II with a rail, and a Para Expert Commander. I’d probably rank them in that order.

I have to say, I love my Colt Government however my Auto Ordinance 1911A1 has become my favorite between the two. The differences are minor, but I just shoot the AO better.

    For a .22 the Browning 1911 22 is a fun little gun.

My favorite? See above- two Union Switch and Signals. Some older 1911's and 1911a1's shoot better than the new ones. Feel free to ask me how I know. Thanks.

My favorite 1911 is one that is reliable (both feeding and ejecting) and accurate enough for my needs. Right now that is an ATI Commander in .45ac

Have a number of 1911s, but my absolute favorite is a custom made 1911 I had made by Derr Precision in MA. One sweet shooter!

I joined the 9mm 1911 party late, but I will say the Springfield Ronin 4.25” 9mm has quickly become my favorite of the family.

Especially when it can do this with a full load on board at ten yards when I do my part (which isn’t all that often :().

Ya know whatever tickles you all pleases me plum to death but why would anyone consider a 1911 in 9mm punybellum when it can be purchased in JMB's wonderful 38Super. I own several 9mm's but in a 1911, blasphemous. :p

I've had most of the major manufactuer's 1911s in some different calibers, along with Wilson, Rock River Arms, Clark, Baer, etc. Most have been good guns, and I admit picking a favorite is about impossible for me. Baer, Clark, and most Colt .45s, have been very good, along with "blasphemous" Kimber and Dan Wesson 9mms, and Kimber and STI .38 Supers.

The fit and finish on your Ronin looks pretty impressive. Gonna have to check one out.

    Lol…I know, I know… but I have three .45 ACP 1911’s so I’m trying something new :).

I recall getting that same info from some 25 year old kid behind the gun store counter when I asked if they had a 9mm 1911 I could check out. (He wasn’t joking though, he was really condescending.)

Assuming (probably correctly) that he thought that 9mm 1911’s were just a new fad, I replied, “Hmmmm, since the 9mm has been offered by Colt in their 1911 for 70-odd years, I think one or two folks out there may take an opposite position.” He had no response, and I left. ;)

I was surprised how much I like the 9mm 1911… so much so I went out and immediately bought a nearly -matching Kimber Ultra Carry II in 9mm as well.

    I may be hooked…

For a gun with a 850-ish MSRP I am very happy with it. It feels and shoots like a more expensive pistol for sure.

We share a similar experience except, after shooting everything else for the last 50 years about 2 years ago I decided a 38 Super had to come off my Bucket List so I bought a Dan Wesson PM-38 along with dies, powder, brass and bullets.
Absolutely love the caliber. I'm getting and honest 1200fps. out of my target loads and 1400fps. in my self defense loads.
Liked it so much I added a alloy framed DW 38Super Guardian to my collection. It is now my preferred CCW.

I’ve never gotten the .38 Super bug. I know it’s got a decent amount of horsepower for such a smallish cartridge but it just never tripped my switch.
I’m not saying never, though. I’ve learned not to do that as I’m easily tempted by a nice firearm or a deal I can’t pass up ;).

    Stay safe.

A lot of great looking 1911 pictures posted!!

Of mine, I have two favorites, Colt Delta Elite (1988 production with excellent chamber support and no crack) and Kimber Eclipse plus II 10mm. The Kimber had to go back to the factory but they made it right as it is a very nice shooter.

Here’s my Rock Island from Cimarron Arms. Has a few “upgrade” Colt antique parts (hammer, thumb safety and slide release) that I got on eBay. I had the eBay parts blued by Ford’s in Florida since they blue guns for Cimarron. I wanted them to match. 5A92C5F4-3E18-440E-9E31-004C71F33A91.jpeg

Lots of pretty 1911 pistols posted here.
My decision will be made after my next purchase.
