.300WSM loads

Boobap--I'm shooting Nosler 165 grain Ballistic tips out of Norma cases, powered by H380 and lit off by Federal GM215M's.

Am firing a Savage Model 12 BVSS. Nice heavy gun. Controls the recoil.

But when I run out of the Federal primers I'll be switching--Those Federal boxes are SOOO big and bulky. I expect about the same accuracy when I start using CCI primers. Expect to use the CCI Benchrest Lg Rifle Magnums if I can get 'em.

Have just begun working on this gun for loads seriously, but I already have a < 1" group @ 100yd, and a < 1 3/4" group @ 200yd. Both 5 shot groups.

The Ballistic Tip bullets are for accuracy shooting. Will be switching to 165 grain Barnes TSX's for a deer hunting load; 180 grain TSX's for hogs.

That H380 just flows like water through the powder measure--love it!

right now i am reusing my federal cases. i have some barnes xlc bullets 180gr that where given to me. i called barnes and they suggested 67gr min - 72 max with h4831. i am using winchester mag primers. i don't have a chrono yet so i am not sure what i am getting as far as velocity, but it bangs. even with the min load which, is only 67 gr it still compresses the grs down. is this normal? is it because the powder takes up more space then ball or flake?
