What's your favorite handgun caliber?

.22 LR : low cost, high volume, useful & fun

.38 spl. : easy & not really expensive to reload, easy to find components for, & like
someone said before : down-loadable for accuracy, fun & low cost and up-loadable for anything else.

I have noticed a tendency to proclaim a "new favorite" gun on most every range trip - the gun/caliber I am shooting at the moment :)

Under pressure, I'd have to say 45acp followed ever-so closely by .38spl and .22LR.

This is a trick question, right? Any caliber number starting with a 2, 3 or 4 is a candidate except for the 25ACP. Shoot the most is 22, love to shoot more if I could afford it, 45. Don't have any that I don't like to shoot.

.22 long rifle.

Between my 617 and old Ruger standard model, its mostly what I shoot these days. Fun, cheap, and keeps the skill at the holy trinity alive.

In Order

That's like asking which is your favorite child. :what:

So - in order of what I shoot and reload most, excluding by definition the .22s,

I'd say 9x19, .38, .45acp, .44spec, .40, 45LC, 380, 9x23, .30 tok, 44mag, and down at the bottom of the list, 7.62 Nagant. Haven't loaded any of the 7mmTCU yet, but that's a matter of time, not preference.

#1 10MM 135gr @ 1600fps
#2 45acp 185gr Barnes solid copper flyin' ashtrays @ 1000fps
#3 10mm 200gr solid @ 1225fps

Any of the above are effective and accurate in all my pistols. #2 is my present ccw cartridge.

Favorite .44 Mag, can wind it up for hunting or use light loads for plinking.
2ed favorite .22 lr., cause there just so darn fun to shoot.

.357 mag 158gr DT Gold Dots at 1400fps for social work, or my 185gr LBT style bullet loaded to 1200fps for hunting.

I have 3 favorites that I equally like: .38 spl, .22 lr, .357 mag.

.38 spl and 22 lr get the most attention, however.
