Favorite .45

I've shot a bunch of them over the years, which makes me Old. The only one for me is the HK45CT. Love it with Double Tap Ammo's .45ACP+P 160gr. Barnes TAC-XP round.

Another vote for the FNP-45, XD Tactical and M&P 45 tie for my second favorite. HK USP would be up there too, but I hate the price gouge on the mags.

I haven't fired many (a Glock, a long time ago, and I can't remember the model number, since they all look alike ;)), but I certainly like my XD-45. The grip is slightly fatter than I'd like, but not bad (and I don't have big hands), it has a grip safety, which I like, and and I like the grip angle. Sights aren't bad, though I don't consider them remarkable. It's not steel, but it feels nice and solid.

Although I'd been handling & shooting various plastic-framed .45's for some years, I'd never come across one that made me want to spend my own money on one until I handled a M&P 45.

It's been a fine example and I'm thinking about picking up the compact model.

I still like my metal-framed .45's (from 3 different manufacturers), though.

Fnh fnp-45

It is good that we are blessed with a large number of quality choices in .45 auto now. After much consideration and gnashing of teeth I finally bought the FNP-45. After the first 50 rounds and a good clean and lube, it is an outstanding shooter, very soft for a .45 in my opinion. Plenty of other good .45's out there though and if I win the lottery I may well own them all eventually.

S&W M&P45

It's grip is not to thick, light recoil, very accurate and reliable.
