by default, my 3" SP 101. Tough, accurate, easy to carry. Nothing special in looks dept but its the gun most likely to go out the door with me (at least in the summer) and also doubles as my bedside gun.
I have some nice Smiths, too... but just love this Ruger.
I got it when they first came out... it was the first one I ever saw. The trigger is like glass now from being snapped a zillion times. It's easy to disassemble for cleaning, it's strong as an ox, it just plain looks good, and it's certainly more accurate than I'll ever be.
Please do notice that others in this 'poll' have chosen the same revolver... it inspires loyalty and good cheer.
It is very hard to say, since my "favorite" tends change according to my mood, lunar phase, sunspots, etc. I do love my .45 Colt, .41 Magnum, and .357 Magnum S&W Mountain Guns though!
My 4" GP-100. Fits me like a glove and has never let me down through many thousands of rounds. After many, many years of trying on different guns and then selling them off when they didn't quite work I've got a gun that will be with me from here on out. While I have many other guns and hopefully always will, the last one to go will be the GP.
Tough question. I'll start with my Colt M357. This is the predecessor of the Python and differs from it only cosmetically. I carried this revolver my first tour in Viet Nam and served two customers with it -- to their and my complete satisfaction.
Next is my Colt Officers Model Target -- this is the most accurate .22 revolver I've ever shot. It's a great small game gun.
Next is my Colt New Service in .45 Colt. With much work (including soldering on a new front sight and milling out the tiny rear sight notch to zero it) this gun shoots better than either of my Ruger Blackhawks. One of these days I'm going to have that 7 1/2" barrel chopped to 5 1/2" and a new front sight and adjustable rear mounted. (Lest anyone faint, this gun was reblued -- poorly -- and is not a collector's item.)
