A Simmons Whitetail I bought at the bargain basement or whatever Cabela's called it up in Minn. It's been a good scope so long as I don't creep up on it when sighting in. Then the piece of my glasses on the bridge of my nose draws blood.
One with a tad more eye relief would have been better. I always left the 3x10x40 on 3x unless I saw one way out and then I cranked in some magnification. That was on one of the last of the Knight Disc Elite 50s. Once I started using that the rifled slug guns stayed home or in the truck as a spare.
My Wolf and my Optima V2 have the provided Konus 3X9 scopes on them. I really rather like the one on the Optima. Pretty decent for included package deals for $99 and $179:
Both rifles were very close on target out of the box. I did reseat the scopes and mounts but still, they were pretty much dead on at 50 yards and a little tweaking got me to 100 yards easy enough.
I have a Weaver Classic V series 4 x 38 that I plan to put on mine before next muzzleloader season. I find that even the fiber optic sights on my muzzleloader are getting harder to see in low light conditions. I will mount the scope this winter and may even sight it in if we get a decent day.
