What's your "never buy" gun?

I know I may get some hate for this but a Glock or anything by DPMS. They are both good gun companies. I just have no interest in owning one except to turn a quick profit.

Glock. They sit a bit too close to safe pressure limits for my comfort. In other words, I think they're underengineered even compared to many other polymer-framed guns. I'd rather have a gun where a minor ammo problem isn't likely to destroy it.

I haven't ran across anything i'd NEVER own.

I had a Phoenix Arms HP22 with every extra part they made for them (both barrels, lock, extended grip mag, blah blah). You get what you pay for. Don't expect a $125 gun to work as well as a $750 one. It was fun, but it only wanted to work properly with super duper hyper high velocity .22 rounds. It started breaking and getting loose after a few hundred rounds.

I don't care for Glocks either. Absolutely hate the design, the feel, the looks. They're not fun to shoot.

I wholeheartedly have to disagree with alot of members choices... I have a 9mm Hi-point carbine (aftermarket stock... couldnt stand the factory stock) that's deadly accurate and the only time it had problems was using aftermarket mags. I had a Norinco Mak90 that was incredible and I only sold it out of necessity (my brother now has one of their knockoffs of the Rem 870 and it's every bit as good as my 870). I had a Taurus in .357/.38 that I really wish I had now, I guess I got one of the "good" ones, it was never anything but great. My Marlin 1895 Guide Gun in .45-70 was sold out of necessity and I miss it more than any other gun i've sold.

Taurus PT145 - hit or miss (based on others claiming theirs work fine), unfortunately mine is a miss and it is a PITA brand new right of the the box (after cleaning packing grease of course).

All the cheapies including:

Taurus
Rossi
Kahr
Kel Tec
NAA

I have owned a couple of Norinco .45 pistols that were great shooters.

I realize Taurus revolvers can sometimes be crap. But Ive owned several Taurus autos and have NEVER had an issue.
a 24/7 Pro is usually my choice for a daily carry.

Any muzzle loader that looks like a modern gun.
Any handgun more powerful than .44 mag.
Pistol grip shotguns.

These are personal preferences only. No reflection on those who like them.

davis, jeminez, jennings, bryco, raven or those hideous gold dersert eagles especially the tiger stripe one.

I just skimmed this entire thread and I believe the only manufacturer I didn't see slammed was Browning. In fact it got praise for the .22 Buckmark.

I currently own guns by S&W, Taurus, Ruger, and on April 1st, Browning. The first three manufacturers all had "issues" that were easily fixed by something as easy as an ammo change (Ruger Mk 1), as simple as a gunsmith adjustment (S&W), or as annoying as a factory return for warranty work (Taurus). Time will tell if the Browning will have any issues or not. A Ruger .357 purchased last Fall is still being broken in. It may need to be returned to the factory for an adjustment.

I love all my guns. I won't count on flawless performance until I've identified and eliminated the flaws. Once that's happened, one gun is as good as another and they've performed flawlessly. I've never had a gun that couldn't be fixed, but I'm sure they exist.

Flaws that need fixing are the reason you need to own more than one gun. At least, that's the reason I give my wife.

I was just going to add that Browning appears to be the clear winner, except the "any gun in 9mm".
My "never buys" are pretty brand neutral. No plastic and when I grip it my little finger has to be on frame, not mag extension.
I like Hi Power's, Challengers and 1911's for that reason.

Any smith and wesson revolver or any 30.06 with a wood stock.
I love my two 1903s. They are classics.

And who would not like a python? kind of the ultimate revolver.

Guns I will probably never buy:

AR15 of any sort in any configuration--I have no use or need for a rifle that feels and sounds like a pogo stick.

And for political reasons, I will never purchase or never purchase another:

Colt
Ruger
Smith and Wesson

And for as long as they continue to use and support HS Precision...

Remington
Savage

I don't have a never buy list. If it goes bang and the price is right its mine. I've got everything from .22 & .25 Ravens to custome made rifles. There're all good.

Even have a Hoban rifle if anybody knows what that is without using google. LOL

I also wonder how some of the major makers stay in business when they are on a never buy list.

Even have one of the Kimber Custom (jam-o-matic) that never misses a beat, one of my favorites.

No Glocks. I refure to spend money on something when the designers haven't even made an attempt at aesthetics. The plastic aspect doesn't endear me to them either. Or the lack of a safety. Or their popularity with gangsters and mall ninjas. Or their dull meaningless names. Or their egotistical capital letter 'GLOCK' spelling. Or the goddamn brick like aesthetics. Give me a 1911 any day of the week.

Anything made by Ruger.:barf:

Never have owned and never will even consider anything Ruger. You can usually buy better, but not pay more.
