Sinclair has 5 pounders of AA#2. Don't see that very often.

 

For what its worth, my shipping charge for 10k primers from PV was $13.95... There is no way joe blow can ship a 14 pound package half way across the US for $14 using fedex >> they pass their low shipping cost along to you without markup. and considering the packaging job they do, I dont feel like one bit of the $14 charge went to line anyones pocket.

When I first ordered from Powder Valley several years ago, I was puzzled by not seeing the shipping charge shown at check out. But many on THR assured me not to worry about being overcharged for shipping. It turned out the shipping charge was very reasonable and it has been since compared to many other online vendors.

My recent order from PV was several boxes of bullets (.308 168/175 gr HPBT factory seconds and Berry's plated) and shipping was around $15.

We see powders come on line in waves. Seems like the powder of the week is AA#2, first at Sinclair and now at Brownell's, previously nowhere I found for months.

 

Sinclair was bought by Brownell's a few years ago, essentially when you order from Brownell's it comes from Sinclair. But you are right about the powder and other stuff hitting in waves.....

My shipping charge for 35# 1000 55gr. FMJBT and 1000 180gr. .40 ended up being $13.95. Decent price, but still seems kind of odd how archaic their website is, considering they seem to be a pretty high volume vendor.

 

I'd rather them have an accurate inventory system and an archaic website than vice versa.

Also, a new website to handle their scale would likely cost in the 5 figure range, it might not make sense for them right now.

 

Sigh! Gunbot listed them separately, and each brand has it's own website.

 

Ordered HS 6 powder and some win 209 primers from recob on the 29th, here today.
Ordered a shipment from Gamaliels on the 29th also, got here today.

Things have obviously started to unclog a good deal.

 

From some of the other complaints I have seen about them...their inventory system isn't always accurate...

 

There is no doubt about it, PV is the number one distributer of powder and primers out there. MidwayUSA gets their powder and primers from them(That says they are huge).

Their reputation is impeccable(They are at the top of my list, certainly.) and anyone that complains more than a little about their service is most likely one of those 'type a' guys that can't be pleased.

They have made inventory mistakes maybe twice in the mad rush a few months back. It is ran by people, people have been known to screw up. They did change a couple things to curb that and have been pretty successful since.

 

I didn't complain about their service...I complained about their website.
But whatever...I've moved passed it.

was at one of the local gun shops today, Gun Toters Supply in Archbald, PA and they had a good supply of IMR/Hodgdon/Win powders and a fair amount of bullets especially from Hornady.

He had bulk packages of Hornady .224" bullets he put in plastic bags numbering 200 and 300 pieces. These were 55gr Soft Point (#2266) w/cannelure. Retail Price is $18.17/100, in store box price was $14.99/100 and the bag of 300 cost me $37.95. ($12.65/100) This is the first reasonable price I've seen on .224" bullets since before Christmas 2012. I bought 600 bullets, he had about 1,600 more on the shelf. This was in addition to the 10 or 12 boxes of 100 he had too.

It will be good to shoot my AR-15 again for a change!

Gaaahhhh, I really wanted large pistol primers as well, I just got my PV order in today(a week earlier than expected). 10k smalls, I hope I can find someone local who wants to swap some small for large. Had I known they'd still have small primers in stock, I would have waited an extra week :banghead:
