BLC2 at Powder Valley still..

Benchmark at Recobs.

Guess thats no real news flash now, being a rifle powder.

Midsouth primer waiver on hazmat

It just worked for me, ordered 5000, 2000 CCI #41 and 3000 Tula SPP!

Have lots of folks had a hard time with Tula SPP?

Makes sense if so, because I JUST got back from buying 1000 at my LGS, not 5 min ago.

As Bds has requested, upon arrival, which midsouth says will take a few extra days, I will load up a batch and go to the range, reporting results, lot numbers involved and color of the primers, silver, brass, etc.

I underrstand its been a past issue, but to add to your fears, I bought 3000.....sort of like washing the car guarantees rain.....report back, lot numbers, success/failure, color of cups, etc.

Lol.
10-4

I cant remember, it was someone around here, that had some issues a few months back. I had PMd him back and forth and he said he wouldnt of minded them, or he wished he had loaded them, in a hammer fired instead of striker fired handgun.

Mine are brass colored, yours?

I do like the fact that they dont seem to get all corroded looking like WSPs..I'm not necessarily going for pretty, but it's kind of a why not if possible kind of thing..

I like CCI but the price of the Tulas have been drawing me in of late.

Actually, I'll need to look at this new box, but the previous box Im still working out of is brass colored.

I haevnt gotten them yet., just ordered and they said it would be a few extra days. It seems at least back when the trouble was it was the silver colored ones that were problematic. I'll post lot numbers and so forth as soon as mine come. I intend on loading some right away, it also seems it was Glock 17 that gave problems. Since that is what I am going to try them in, hopefully we can put this bad Tulas thing to rest. Hopefully.

When only rifle powder, and steel cases, and Tula primers are newsworthy; we know there is still a severe shortage.

The pistol powder situation is ridiculous. Ive never been involved with a hobby that cant get enough products to the market. I guess it's a bit unusual though. Im a guitarist (I use that term very loosely:)) and Ive never not been able to get new strings, picks, amps, pedals, etc.

I guess no U.S. govt administration has ever threatened a ban on Fenders, though we're probably slowly headed that way. See Taliban:(

Potatohead, but I can't find my Hamer guitars either.

I guess I will just have to play with my Fender/Jackson/Alvarez/Axl guitars along with my lone Hamer guitar.

I'll be diving into my last pound of Unique by the end of the Summer - gives me about 3 months after August and then I'll panic. I'll have to shoot what I can find (which is nothing right now) or stop shooting. So by the end of November, if things don't change by Thanksgiving, I'll have to sit on a couple hundred rounds of .38, 9mm, .380 and .32 in case of emergency and start shooting .22 exclusively.

I'll not go back to shooting factory ammo except .22 LR. I'd hate to see it come to that but it'll be what it'll be.....I'm afraid now that any powder that becomes available will end up like the .22 was this Spring.

VooDoo

Or you can start picking up components to reload rifle cartridges and buy yourself an early Christmas rifle.

And pick up components to reload pistol cartridges when they are available.

Problem solved! ;) :D

It depends on why you reload. Is it for accuracy? Is it to save money? Or, as in my case, is it to have whatever quantity of ammo you want to have whenever you want to have it? If you are in my category, and run out of powder due to the shortage, you CAN always buy factory ammo. Ten years from now, when you look back on life, will it really and truly matter that in 2014 you spent $250 to buy a case of 9 mm factory ammo that was going for $190 in the summer of 2012? I have un-shot factory ammo bought at the height of the 2008-2009 crisis and I don't even know what I paid for it. I'm sure it was "expensive" but that was 2009. Who cares at this point? The money is long gone but the ammo isn't!!!

Thanks for putting up that post about gunbot.net. I've been looking for Vihta Vuori N135 for the Hornady 155-A and 165-A bullets for my Garand's. Hard to find but Gunbot showed me Powder Valley had it for $6 less per 1 lb than another place and I ordered some. I've been able to pick up RL-15 and I4064 and mimic the 155-A/N135 load but the N135 shoots the best for me.

Appreciate the tip.

Stopped in the Cabelas in Dundee, Mi. today, since I was up that way. They had less powder this time than last year when I was there. It could have been the timing between deliveries.

But as I was about to leave, I noticed a worker nearby putting green buckets on the shelf that he had in a cart. 1400 rds. of Remington. So it wasn't a total waste of time. :)
