Does anyone know where I could find a Buttplate for a Tower 1862 rifle.

Is this a real Tower or a reproduction? If it's a reproduction the original importer might have parts.

Also contact Dixie by phone or e-mail and explain your problem. They are great folks to work with and they may have something else that will work.

Its a original Tower. I will contact Dixie and discuss this them. Thanks......

Dixie will be supplying me with an reproduction buttplate that will fit my rifle. It will be made of brass. Does anyone have an idea of how to age this new brass so it will not look out of place?

Dissolve some black powder in water and dip or paint it on the bright brass. The sulfur in the solution will blacken the part.
