I have been thinking of loading up some 451 detonics ammo for a while but I have no brass! Can I form this case out of something else or do I just have to hunt around for it? Also I e-mailed starline but they just said no, is there another case manufacter that I can check with?:banghead:

If I remember correctly the 451 Detonics was .062" longer than the 45 ACP, with a stronger head. It would seem that you could neck up 40 Super brass (.992") to 45 and possibly trim a little.

    How about .460 Rowland brass?

It's supposed to be longer than standard .45 ACP brass, right? How about the .45 Super?

Then there's always .45 Winchester Magnum brass, as sold by Starline, along with the two above brass choices.

I just use Starline .460 Rowland brass. It is slightly different in length but not enough to worry about....least not in my .451 Detonics barrel - I have some .451 brass, I have not tried it in the Rowland Conversion.

    Best regards,
    Jim H.
