I live in central Illinois...born and raised here. Why am I still here? I'm married and my in laws are here. Nuff said.

I'd leave in a minute and get a job doing anything in a gun friendly state if I didn't have a family to support or uproot.

I live in Utah because it is home with family and a long career. I hated Illinois 40 years ago, no mountains. I hated Denver, too violent. I hated California, too insanely restrictive.

Nearing retirement, I've thought of moving to a better winter clime, but I'm not hearing 'the call'. We shall see.

I got to Texas as soon as I could.

Left IL and came to TX for obvious reasons. A good paying job helped

Born in Galveston, Texas. Lived in Louisiana for a few years. Lived for several years split up between Saudi Arabia, Libya, and Malta. Moved back to the states back to Louisiana, then finally to Southeast Texas. This is the state I plan on being buried in. I could be better described as a redneck, coonass. Redneck by birth, but registered in Houma as a native.

Born and raise a liberty-loving Californian, even if that does sound a bit odd. I've split time between my second home of Illinois, due to work. I love California for many reasons including its opportunities when it comes to business, but can't stand it due to its heavy hand of regulatory nonsense on guns and beyond. The same thing applies to IL. Chicago is a beautiful city and an American and global landmark, plus rural IL is also gorgeous. It has grown on me. Still, both states are full of anti-freedom politicians. Nonetheless, I feel that if I leave and give up the fight, others will be weakened who stay. I say stand your ground and fight back! We can't all retreat to Texas and Kentucky, as wonderful as those states are! :)

NH, because it's the only state in the country that actually CUT its state budget 12% last year. It also added school choice and has excellent gun laws.

And they'll stay that way, because enough people in NH actually show up and "do" politics, instead of watching TV.

Hi :) I live in Germany right now because the military told me to! Trust me, it's nice here, but boy it is absolutely devoid of anything remotely related to firearms that civilians can take part in. The H&K factory is only an hour or so away, they don't give tours or anything from what I know.

I'm due to go back to the states in a few months, can't say I'm going to complain about that.

I live in a thicket at the end of a gravel road that passes through the piney woods, where there are lots of barking dogs and guns. Nuff Said

My ancestors came from Germany to God's country, aka Catawba County NC (40 miles NW of Charlotte), in the mid 1750's, and that's where I was born, raised, and where I still reside. I'm American by birth, Southern by the grace of God!!!

Close enough to the big city (charlotte) without being in it, even though it is quickly heading in my direction. I can drive to the mountains in 1 to 2 hours and to the beach in 4 hours. I can leave my house and walk for 2 miles through the woods without seeing a person or house. My own shooting range is about 1/2 mile from my house, and the neighbors don't complain about the noise. As the NC state poem reads:

Here's to the land of the long leaf pine,
The summer land where the sun doth shine,
Where the weak grow strong and the strong grow great,
Here's to "Down Home," the Old North State!

Here's to the land of the cotton bloom white,
Where the scuppernong perfumes the breeze at night,
Where the soft southern moss and jessamine mate,
'Neath the murmuring pines of the Old North State!

Here's to the land where the galax grows,
    Where the rhododendron's rosette glows,
Where soars Mount Mitchell's summit great,
In the "Land of the Sky," in the Old North State!

Here's to the land where maidens are fair,
Where friends are true and cold hearts rare,
The near land, the dear land, whatever fate,
The blest land, the best land, the Old North State!

I've lived in central NC all of my life. I grew up in the country, and really don't want to live in a city. The weather is decent, except for hurricane season. My only complaint is that the sheriff in my county of residence will not sign for a Class III permit.

In that ±12 years' the only two 'permanent' places in my life were grandparent's, Plainview, TX & Peru, IN
Finally settled in Bryan, TX, and spent 26 years' there--at least until the Second Depression hit and ii was all packed up on Mr Peabody's coal train and taken away.
So, I've washed ashore here in DFW again, suffering along in this metroperdition, trying to find a way to police up the scattered shards of my shattered life.
Were I to win life's lottery (or the state Lotto), I'd be on the roads south to my beloved Brazos County as quick as I could get ink to dry. And ne'er return'd other than Christmas.

Born as an Army brat in Nurenburg, W Germany, but have also live in Nebraska, Oklahoma, Maine, Connecticut and now reside in Western NY State. If it weren't for family and our property (40 acres) with a cabin on a gorge, we would likely move to Texas, Wyoming or Alaska.
