The way I see it, one of three things is going to happen.

    1) Bush will be re-elected. The American public will be happy with his leadership for the next 4 years, and a Republican will be elected in 2008, hopefully Dr. Rice.

    2) Bush will be re-elected. Something goes wrong in the next four years, and we get a Democrat in office, most probably Hillary.

    3) Kerry is elected.

Now, only in situation 1 would we be in a good position as far as RKBA. If 2 or 3 happen, i'm seriously considering immigrating to a more level-headed country - currently looking at Israel or Switzerland. Four years of Kerry would be bad, four (or eight!) years of Hillary would be catastrophic. What are you guys planning?

Even if #2 or #3 happens, the USA is still the best place to be.

Israel's government is basically socialist and your RKBA there is VERY restricted. Ask Microbalrog, an Israeli member of this board.

Switzerland is very picky about who it lets immigrate.

With any luck at all, I will be standing in line to vote AGAINST Hillary. Hill, ole gal, is peeing in her pants now, afraid that the gigalo, lying ass, etc Kerry will win this election. That would set her time back another 4 years.
Methinks that times are gonna get interesting. Stick around. And keep the 1911's well oiled.

I think even most Republicans have problems with Bush. After four more years of him, a lot of people will be so sick and tired of the GOP that Hillary will be in a great position to win the presidency.

I'll probably still stuck in California.

Reality wise, I'm already used to not having much gun freedom. Within a few years I'm gonna try and obtain a CCW permit. That in it of itself is a HUGE step for me. And I think I'll be perfectly happy here.

Yeah, I wont get an AR-15 like I always wanted, and the .50 is about to be banned, but those are small priorities in life.

My family, friends, and life is still here. I'm used to the high prices, the crappy laws. I'm not goin' anywhere.

I will either be in Texas, or in the Republic of Texas, depends on what happens in Nov. We Texans love y'all, but we'll have to take action if Kerry wins president over Bush. We'll miss you too.

Texas has given all those complainers plenty of time to get used to the results. After seeing the whiners along the campaign route, the folks from Texas are considering taking matters into our their hands.

    Here is our solution:

#1: Let John Kerry become President of the United States. (all 49 states.)

#2: George W. Bush becomes the President of the Republic Of Texas.

So what does Texas have to do to survive as a Republic?

    1. NASA is just south of Houston, Texas. (we will control the space industry.)

    2. We refine over 85% of the gasoline in the United States.

    3. Defense Industry. (we have over 65% of it) The term "Don't mess with Texas," will take on a who le new meaning.

    4. Oil - we can supply all the oil that the Republic of Texas will need for the next 300 years. Yankee states? Sorry about that.

    5. Natural Gas - Again we have all we need and it's too bad about those northern states. John Kerry will figure a way to keep them warm....

    6. Computer Industry - we currently lead the nation in producing computer chips and communications: Small places like Texas Instruments, Dell Computer, EDS, Raytheon, National Semiconductor, Motorola,Intel, AMD, Atmel, Applied Materials,
Ball Semiconductor, Dallas Semiconductor, Delphi, Nortel, Alcatel, Etc, Etc. The list goes on and on.

    7. Health Centers - We have the largest research centers for Cancer research, the best burn centers and the top trauma units in the world and other large health planning centers.

    8. We have enough colleges to ke ep us going: UT Texas, A&M, Texas Tech, Rice, SMU, University of Houston, Baylor, UNT, Texas Women's University, Ivy grows better in the south anyway.

    9. We have a ready supply of workers.

    10. We have control of the paper industry, plastics, insurance, etc.

    11. In case of a foreign invasion, we have the Texas National Guard and the Texas Air National Guard. We don't have an army but since everybody down here has at least six rifles and a pile of ammo, we can raise an army in 24 hours if we need it. If the situation really gets bad, we can always call Department of Public Safety and ask them to send over a couple Texas Rangers.

    12. We are totally self sufficient in beef, poultry, hogs and several types of grain, fruit and vegetables and lets not forget seafood from the gulf. And everybody down here knows how to cook them so that they taste good. Don't need any food.

This just names a few of the items that will keep the Republic Of Texas in good shape. There isn't a thing out there that we need and don't have.

Now to the rest of the United States under President Kerry:

Since you won't have the refineries to get gas for your cars, only President Kerry will be able to drive around in his 9 mile per gallon SUV. The rest of the United States will have to walk or ride bikes.

You won't have any TV as the space center in Houston will cut off your communications. You won't have any natural gas to heat your homes but since Mr. Kerry has predicted global warming, you will not need the gas.

    Signed, The People in Texas

Leave the U.S.??? FUGEDABOUTIT. I won't even leave California, no matter who is elected POTUS. As for Hillary Shrillary Rodham-Clinton, she has waaayy too much baggage to get elected POTUS, IMO. Not to mention this country is not quite ready for the first female president, IMO. :)

LOL. WalkerTexasRanger, I like the way you think.

I was born in Texas. What will the Republic's policy on immigration (or re-immigration) be?

(BTW, I have the required 6 rifles and pile o' ammo...)

All gun owners will be WELCOME anytime in the Republic of Texas. "I've got ammo" will be the passcode. Firearm ownership will be encouraged, heck it should be mandatory. (Da*m near is here now, anyway) :D

I'll be in Nevada working at some hospital. I'll have a nice leisurely commute. Live within a half hour of a good range. My criteria for gun buying, will be guns not legal in CA.

I'll also be a poker playing god that can do no wrong at the table.:D

Well actually I'm not sure if that's far enough away from CA. Are there any chinese people in Texas?

Come on over, Chickenfried. Richardson and Arlington are full of Chinese, Koreans and Vietnamese, not to mention all the Vietnamese on the Texas coast.

I'm thinking about maybe moving further west in Texas than DFW. It's getting so you can't see anything but brown air around here in the summertime some days.

Besides, we were a soverign country once. I bet we still have the owner's manual around here somplace. Unfortunately, we're still operating under the tight state constitution we 'had to' adopt during Reconstruction, but hey, we amend it every 2 years. CHL without a residency waiting period, range protection and RKBA. What a deal.

Still no state income tax, though :D

    Regards,
    Rabbit.

All saying the Republic of Texas comes about (we DO have the right to succeed according to the documents we joined with) then i'm already set....

Seeing as i'm in East Texas i already have a ready supply of dear and bass fish.... I already have fields to grow whatever in.... i already have the required 6 rifles (plus some)

Since i'm an Import (born in wisconsin) hopefully i'll not be descriminated against.... but the fact is i became a Texan at 8 yrs of age... so honestly i've got the attitude that I AM a Texas - as there is no other place i'd want to live.

(pls excuse my tendency to root for the Green Bay Packers....)

    hehe
