Where do you plan to be in 2008?

I'll be right where I am now, God willing.

No matter what happens, leaving the country is not an option for me ~ no sir. I was born here, and generations of my ancestors lie buried in the soil. I took my first steps here. My great-great-grandfather fought here (on the Southern side, thank God), and a good many uncles went to war to defend this nation. This is my home, and I'll no more flee it when it's under attack (be it politically or otherwise) than I would my own house and if it should ever come to pass that I have to take up arms to defend her, well, there's no place I'd rather die if it should come to that.

Come on over, Chickenfried. Richardson and Arlington are full of Chinese, Koreans and Vietnamese, not to mention all the Vietnamese on the Texas coast.

Be nice now, a couple of them near the coast are the wife's family. :) They're the ones that keep me busy at the range during those "in-law visits" every year. A week of range time and war stories (he was a marine capt. in VN). and listening to hints to move there. :uhoh:

Anyways, myself...I plan on being right here where I am now. Living on the same piece of property I grew up on and watching my son play and grow ( he'll be 7 in '08). Not sure about the laws there in TX but if it's federally legal it's ok for up here in Maine - that state we all wish more Mass, NY and NJ folks would forget about.:p gotta have all 5 seasons (yes we have 5 here)

If Texas secedes then I'm sure at least a few other states would follow. Hell, maybe even most of them here in flyover country. If not I guess I'd be a Texan.

BlkHawk73, for the record I like my Vietnamese neighbors. He was a Lt. Col. in the ARVN. All around nice guy. We play chess together sometimes.

Trust me, I have nothing but the utmost of respect for the Vietnamese people, especially those who I have been priviliged to meet. Same goes for the Koreans. My father-in-law was tight with the 5th. TES-ROK when he was in the Engineers over there.

Y'all come on. We're (still) building a country. Room for everybody in Texas.

Oh, and seasons? Got 'em here too. Mostly it's December, January, February and Hell.

Regards,
Rabbit.

heheheh seasons... jan feb march... <rofl>

Hal - was being funny - this is a funny thread... humor - its whats for lunch.

I LIKE that we are the united states... otherwise we'd be.... something like the serious wastecase of countries that seem to think a lil plot of land makes a country.... (middle east, most of the european countries, most of the south american countries, etc etc..)

J/Tharg!

Probably in the same mass grave with the rest of the freedom loving Americans if Kerry or Hillary gets elected.

5 seasons = spring, summer, fall, winter, mud :

Been to TX twice (San Antonio/kerrville and Houston/pearland). No disrespect by any means but I'll stay put. No desire for 110 degree weather with daily rain. Just the overall layout of things was odd enough to me. One of those "nice place to visit..." areas. I'm going again in Dec, but I'll be happy to come home that last day. Gotta have my evergreen tree mountains, rocky coast, and slower paced way of life w/o any metropolis nearby.

"Computer Industry - we currently lead the nation in producing computer chips and communications: Small places like Texas Instruments, Dell Computer, EDS, Raytheon, National Semiconductor, Motorola,Intel, AMD, Atmel, Applied Materials,
Ball Semiconductor, Dallas Semiconductor, Delphi, Nortel, Alcatel, Etc, Etc. The list goes on and on."

Intel, the worlds largest semi-conductor manfacturer has NO chip production in Texas. They have an interest in Sematech, which is a collection of semi-conductor companies who do research "together" in Austin, next to the AMD Fab. You can look down on the big AMD fab from some of the Sematech conference rooms. Intel's chip production is centered in Ariizona, New Mexico, Ireland and Israel.

With all due respect, what kind of chicken-manure question is that?

I really don't have much respect for Americans on either side of the liberal-conservative spectrum who plan to flee the country if their candidate loses.

How about standing your ground and fighting for your country and your rights??? That's the courageous thing to do. This is our land, our country, and I for one am going to continue to raise holy hell about my gun rights, my free speech rights, my privacy rights, and all other rights.

STAY AND FIGHT THE SOB'S! It's the courageous thing to do, and the right thing.

In 2008, I'll be living on an acreage out in the country here in Texas, well-armed and well-protected. With a swimming pool, too. :)

In college, somewhere. Hopefully in a free state.

I'll also vote in my first election. Hopefully it will be an election where the RKBA is not in danger from either candidate, and the Republican primary will be between Rep. Paul and Dr. Rice. :p
