22LR is sold out almost everywhere!!!!!!! Where is everyone buying their 22 LR ammo?

Awesome, another thread about 22 ammo.

Got to do your homework and find out when the stores get their deliveries.

Awesome another "know-it-all".... just what I needed :barf:

What did you expect? A list of places you can go and tell a secret passcode where they open up the exclusive stash of hidden .22LR for all those in the know?

.22LR is sold out pretty much everywhere. People buy it as soon as it comes in. That's the case wherever you go. If you want some, wait for things to calm down or start checking shelves regularly (everyday - preferably when the trucks come in) and see if you can snap up a box or two.

Other than that, there is no magic answer to your problem.

WalMart on Rosedale Highway (SR58) in Bakersfield stocks ammo at 6AM daily.

You have to ask vendors in YOUR area when they stock it. NOBODY has it online at reasonable prices. Try gunbroker if you don't want to do the homework - you'll save time and aggravation - but pay more for that convenience.

I bought 500rds at a sportsmans rummage several weeks ago for $40. Found another 1000 on a local Fishing/Hunting website same week for $80. Was over priced by my standards but now I have enough for summer. Just ordered 5000rds online for $250 but it's a 12 week delay. Keep your eyes open, people at work tell me there's no pistol ammo but I see it weekly at local stores...last less then a day on the shelf though so you have to check often and BUY when they have it. What state are you in?

They are out there. Do your home work and fall in line at your LGS. Or not shoot at all till these trials and tribulations have passed. Everytime the Antis and Obama sound off, the ammo prices shoot to the roof.

It's sort of surprising to anyone who hasn't been looking for ammo for awhile that there's no .22LR. Several reasons for it, I think: 1. Price of center-fire ammo is way up so people are practicing with .22 cal. 2. People expect a zombie apocalypse soon and plan on using .22 ammo like currency. If the predicted apocalypse doesn't happen a lot of people are going to get stuck with a lot of .22 ammo that they bought at premium prices, and they'll have to figure what to do about the sunk cost.

Next thing yah know Airsoft pellets will be impossible to find. I guess it's a good time to fill out your knife collection... Maybe invest in a trebuchet?

Never claimed I was a "know-it-all". But what I do know is, is that there are countless threads exactly like yours. I also know that whining about it won't get you anything. I know this may be hard to believe, but I did a little bit of asking around and woke up early for a few days and ended up scoring some ammo. I have yet to have ammo fall in my lap by complaining I couldn't find any on here.

The key is to buy all you can afford when demand is low. :)

Ammo speculation is far easier than money speculation.

The trick is to buy during normal times two bricks (550 packs) shoot one and stash the other, if you do that often enough, you will build up a reserve supply in no time at all.

That's when you hit your stash to shoot.

That's what I've been doing for the past ten years or so. I'm plenty stocked.

Some of it is in my house, some in my garage, I bought most of it before the election but I scored two bricks of eley recently. I also gave away a brick of cci blazer that was from a case I bought two years ago. My nephew that just bought a rifle was really thrilled. :)

A lot of us have ammo, we bought it when you could get still get it, most of us are not trying that hard to buy the new ammo you are trying to buy. We will buy again when stocks return, the prices are right and we will buy a lot more the next time.

Those that didn't prepare earlier got a clue and tried to catch up with us. By the time you got a clue, THEY bought it. Don't blame us that were prepared.

My LGS has a Facebook page and posts anytime new ammo comes in. All you have to do is give them a call and they will hold it for you for up to 24 hours.

Of course all they have been getting in is match grade stuff so I don't buy it.

i can get fmj 9mm ammo for $15.00/50 rounds....Gander Mnt has CCI .22lr for $18.00/100rounds. its almost not worth buying .22lr anymore when centerfire ammo can be had for close to the same price.

i no longer own a .22 magnum for the same reason.

What, can't find any ammo how can that be. I just sold 3,500rds. this week. Hey It's the American way. Capitalism, free markets all that. Still got about 5 years worth left. It does pay to plan ahead.
