I recently found a Remington model 81 in great condition. The only issue is that it was tapped for optics, and not sold with them. I am reasonably certain that the holes were for a Pachmayr base. I have not had luck finding someone who would deal with NOS accessories, or on eBay. Does anyone know where I can find this mount before deer season?

If it were me I’d get a piece of blank picatinny from a place like EGW, then have a gunsmith drill holes corresponding to the holes on the 81 receiver.

I'll look, I may have a Pachmeyer low swing mount set up for an 81. If you hear from me again means I found it. No 8 or 81 anymore.
