Where to get HK LEM trigger?

I have a HK USP 45f on order in Variant 1.

If, in the future, I decide on the LEM trigger modification, where would I be able to order the required parts?

I am in our regional police academy after being sworn in on Friday, so an LE supplier would work. The agency I am joining is very Glock heavy, and about three officers carry the USP out of 127. Sig, Beretta and Smith & Wesson are also approved and in use.

I don't know about parts, but I think HK will do it for $96?

I think you have to send it to H&K for the mods, iremember reading it somewheres, give them a call . the p2000 my son has is great.

just ordered my parts from Cal's Sporting Armory for $55.

for $96 + shipping, HK will do it.

your HK Armorer can do it as well.

you retain your warranty when you get it installed by HK or a HK Armorer.

FYI, you can get the LEM in either 4.5# - 5# or 7.5# - 8# the difference is in the springs.

I can understand it if your department allows only DAO pistols, but i still prefer DA/SA since i've practiced and become proficient in the transition.

I just e-mailed Cal's Sporting Armory about this... as mentioned they are selling this mod for $55. I have a video from Arizona Response Systems that shows how to detail strip the pistol, so the install should not be a problem.

I have a USP .45 and am considering the same thing. Some questions I had...

Will the LEM mod fit the USP .45?

Will the trigger reset improve?

Will the LEM trigger work with the manual safety lever?

What part is needed to decrease the trigger pull from 8lbs to 5lbs? (I have already replaced the mainspring, from 14lb to 12lb... Cal's is selling the LEM with the heavier 8lb pull and I wanted to know what I can do to decrease it to 5lbs if that feels too heavy).

the LEM will fit all USP (full and compact)

trigger reset is supposed to be shorter if you let the trigger out (after the first shot) just enough to reset.

the springs that creates the 3# difference is the firing pin safety spring and hammer spring. i believe that using the spring already in the slide, you should be OK for 5#.

the LEM can work with the safety, not sure how it's done though.

Thanks for the link to the review. It is very useful. I also learn that you should not dry fire the USP without a snap cap.

edit... I just read this in the above-referenced review...

There is another difference beween the H&K LEM trigger and the P-O LDA trigger. Like the other USP versions, if the LEM version is dry-fired, the hammer will go all the way forward and will be resting against the firing pin. At this point, unlike the P-O LDA, the trigger on the LEM can be pulled (against a very strong hammer spring) and a second strike on the primer can be obtained, if one wishes.

the "other versions" is in reference to the other variants. if you dry fire the any of the USP's, the following dry fire trigger pull will be in DA and the hammer will be down. if you rack the slide, then you will be in SA or the lighter trigger pull of the LEM 5# or 8# depending on the set up. the Variant #7 will still have the hammer down with a pull of about 9#

i had a LDA, liked the trigger, but hated the trigger. the reset was tooooo long and it short strooked it alot. so i had to get rid of it and get and AR-15

Yeah, the LEM is available through HK directly. As I was told, it is about $100 w/ a 4-6 week turnaround.

I may stick with V-1.

It is nice to have the options. A "consistant trigger pull" is preferred by brass, but not required.
