A while back, I gave a red dot scope to a friend with a Marlin 60. Apparently, the sight was meant for Weaver mount but her rifle uses 3/16" groove. Where could I find the adapter to convert one to the other?
Oleg,
I recently bought a Simmons RedDot sight at a gunshow to put on my SKS. When I got it home and tried to put it on my Weaver rail, it didn't fit as it was set up for 3/8 rail. After examining it for a bit, I figured out that if you took the "loose" part of the mount off and inverted it, then it fit the Weaver rail. Don't know what kind of mount is on the red dot you gave away, but it is something to look at.
Thanks a lot. Seems that the cost of the red dot ($40) is comparable to the cost of the adapters ($30-$45) AND it raises the sight quite a bit. I'll just find a 3/8" mount sight for my friend and re-purpose the Weaver mount one for something else.
