Which .223 Brass? (MODS, please close)

There have been a few threads on brass so I decided to put up a Poll thread about it. Of the 4 I put in the Poll which would you buy?

PLEASE don't tell me to buy another brand other than what I posted. I refuse to spend $1 a piece for the "better" brands. I just want your opinion on the 4 I post or don't answer the thread at all. (how much you want to bet someone will anyway? LOL)

I have bought only one brand of .223 new: Winchester. They were not all the same length, mostly on the long side (1.756-1.758"), requiring a trim to work in my short chamber, and many of the necks were not round. Their weight variance was about +/- 1.6gr.

They size fine, load fine, and seem to shoot fine in my Savage 25.

I have enough previously fired .223 brass on hand now to meet my lifetime needs--barring a varmint epidemic--so I doubt I'll ever buy it again.

Of the four brands listed, I avoid Federal. Hornady is ok but too expensive compared to the other two.

Of the four, I buy mostly Winchester as it was recommended by the builder of my service rifle.

But, I just took delivery on a box of once fired Remington.

I do buy Lake City and always wonder if is now the same as Federal, or did Federal make their brass the same as Lake City.

If I was serious about competition, I would probably buy the over priced super stuff for matches. But my days of being competitive are long past.

Another Lake City purchaser here. Might want to abort this poll and start one that has it as an option to get more realistic results.

You dont need Lapua brass if your not shooting for ubber accuracy, so go Winchester. The others you mention are good , but avoid Federal because it soft, and the primer pockets loosen up pretty fast.

+1 for L/C. Rest would be good for hog hunting out of a helicoptor with no brass catcher installed.

I use Remington, in my .308 and .223 exclusively. Federal is soft and heavy, with less capacity. I'm very pleased with my Remington brass, I can get 1000 pieces of once fired for $100.

PMC isn't bad either, I'm currently shooting some of that factory ammo so I can load the brass.

I buy and/or scrounge once-fired mixed brass and separate it by headstamp. I have trouble comprehending buying new .223's -- it would be like buying new 9mm pistol brass.

Of the stuff I've used, I like "LC 11"s the best, but I haven't used enough different ones to have a strong preference.

In .30-06 I've bought new Winchester and Remington brass, and they both work just fine.

I voted Winchester, but also like once-fired LC, or new IMG (if available). If it is a bolt rifle, Lapua is my hands-down favorite, especially if I'm loading Bergers/Matchkings/Sceanars/B-Tips/V-Max/Z-Max.

I toss FC cases. (Bottleneck)

Lake City is not expensive, (at least not like Lapua, or Norma)

So if that had been an option, that's the one I would've voted for.

MODS,
Please close this thread since no matter how many times you ask there are those who refuse to comply with the OP's requests!

Sorry, but you kinda opened the door when you said this.

Implying that everything but the four choices you gave is "Expensive" brass. Many of us are just commenting on the fact that LC brass is good brass and NOT $1 a piece. In fact it is cheaper than your four choices. \

If you did not want anything but the four, you could have given us option 5 " none of the above".
