My Merkel 280 was the most impressive. It came in a fitted leather, lined case. Then again, for $4000, you might expect some niceties. Though I've heard they stopped doing that in the last couple years.

USFA has always impressed me with their packaging. Unlike Colt's who send you a 140yr old design in a modern plastic case, USFA uses an old fashioned cardboard box with original type markings and a soft bag.

I need to take some pics of both.

My vote goes to Springfield. I don't necessarily want all the stuff it comes with, but it sure is a nice all-around package.

    Another +1 for Springfield

My XDs came in a sturdy foam padded "pelican-like" case suitable for air travel, along with an extra mag, an owb holster, a two mag holder, decent lock, extra fiber optic inserts, smaller grip insert and a cleaning brush! (plus instruction manual, etc.)

A nod to Stag Arms... And a wink.

Just found this one. while bordering on "mall ninja" it is still well executed and clever...

Well, that's good, because it's not their choice. It is required for handguns.

When the gun comes with a free Range Rover, it's definitely out of the working man's budget.
