I voted for the .44 Mag. I think the platform is overkill for .357 and the .50 is too expensive. BTW I got a chance to shoot the .44 DE and the recoil is easy to handle. I was surprised how much less felt recoil it had compared to my .44 revolver.

Full Pack

Magnum research now produces and sells a conversion pack where you get all 3 calibers. It's about 2400 USD, so It's a little pricey, but you get a .357, .44 Mag, and .50 AE Barrel/Bolt/Magazine.

I have really enjoyed shooting really hot 357 mag rounds from a DE. 4 some reason, it really likes HOT ammo

Hey Greg. Looking at your sig you wouldn't be satisfied with nothing less than the 50AE. I like mine but need to get Hogue grips for it. Either way if you search the web you will find, the consensus is they are very accurate shooting guns. If you get the 50 they are factory sighted in at 100 yrds. I can imagine this scenario. "Hey guys I just got a Desert Eagle. Really? How's the recoil? Not bad." Then you hand it to them? "357, 44? Huh?": :neener: Good luck in your choice Greg. Either way you will enjoy.

I'd say .44 Magnum. It's got enough recoil in a revolver-sized package to hurt a bit, and a semi-auto design helps to alleviate that a bit. Ammo's affordable, not hard to find.

.357 would be incredibly nifty for ammo commonality, but since it CAN, I think the .44 mag is better suited for the platform; .50 AE is too.....unrealistic. Besides, it's a good excuse to pick up a .44 wheelgun to match!

I personally picked .44MAG.

It's a common enough round that I don't have to special order it. Plus 44 dosen't cost an arm and a leg. From what I've read in various articels is the D.E. shoots these magnum rounds better then most revolvers; velocity and recoil is better. From what they say.
