Remember the minimum spec for the brass is different than the minimum spec for the chamber.

If your gauge is cut to minimum chamber spec and your reloads go in and out smoothly you know it will work in any rifle with an in-spec chamber.

I don't really want to resize my brass to minimum brass specs. I want to size my brass just small enough to fit reliably in a min spec chamber so I know it will work in any of my 300 BO guns.

And your repeating the misconception. If a round fits the Guage it's not Sammi spec ammunition. There are two separate and specific drawings one for chamber and one for ammunition. They don't match. I will post both or you can look and verify.

I think you're unnecessarily confusing the subject. I really don't care about SAAMI drawings. I just want an easy way to make sure my rounds are going to chamber in any rifle I own now or may own in the future and these are gauges that guarantee that. Anything that fits this case gauge, you can consider factory-equivalent ammo. There's nothing misleading or confusing about that and there's no need to look any deeper.

I'm not here to argue, I feel as though you understand what I mean, and that in this hobby unlike some others the technical points have important meanings. Have a wonderful day, no hurt feelings.

I took your tone as confrontational and nitpicky and didn't really pay attention to what you were saying after that. Yes, the gauges are cut to minimum chamber specification. No hurt feelings. Have a great day.

And this is my understanding of how the Sheridan & JP gauges are set up. If it fits, it ships. Well, chambers, assuming a chamber within SAMMI spec. :)

It's also my understanding that the same applies to the steel ones by Lyman. I believe the orange anodized aluminum ones will also take a case after being fired.
