Which Glocks are you buying before they disappear?

Im good for now, or at least til the next good deal comes along. Too hard to turn down those "owner-improved" Glocks that sell for cheap. A couple of bucks puts them back to factory, and then you have another. 🙄 But hey, where else can you get functional, reliable, and durable guns for so cheap? :)

It never ends. 🤪

I recently bought a G17L for $475 because I have wanted one for a long time and I figured that's as cheap as it gets for a new one. It was a Gen 3 Classic model without the MOS.

I'm assuming it's one of the model being discontinued but will live on with other more expensive SKU's and then most likely be re-introduced at some later date like Dogtown Tom alluded to.

I don’t think they make what I would want. Single stack in 40sw. I’m not opposed to the 9mm but I like the heavier and fatter bullets, also I reload 40 pretty similar to the way I load 10mm so it’s not much more than a powder drop adjustment to go from one to the other.

All of the standard double stack guns rip me open on my thumb knuckle. It rides the frame right where the divot is, and the gun moving around tears my hand up after about 1/2 magazine. I have owned and carried a few glocks and just can’t figure out how to make one work for me without the ripped thumb.

Meh. I've owned a G23 and a G19. they were both okay, but certainly did not light a fire. "Competence", yes. "Perfection", no, in to my mind.
Sold both long ago.
At one time I "thought" I wanted a G20 or a G29, back when I was doing 10mm...but I am out of the 10mm now, and I really have no interest in any Glock products.
Sorry.

Just got a CZ P10F. It destroys any Glock in that size category, that I've ever shot. Ergo, grip, trigger, bore axis etc. I still like some Glocks however.
I agree, we like out P-10s here, my wife carries a P-10M and my son carries a P-10S. One of the two up there is now a safe queen, since the imported only 400 of the White Nitride version. It will be a collector version about the time my son is 80. :D
I qualify with the Glock 19 every years for 23 years now, and always qualify Expert or Distinguished Expert, but they just don't fit me right.

Kinda why the Shadow Systems guns gave me some interest. Glock design, interchangeable parts - adjustable grip angle. Also, no plate required to install an optic. My P-10C, the model with optic cut and XS sight setup from factory is one of my favorite strikers guns ever. My MR920 "Foundaton" is right up there. Both softer shooting than the 19 (IMO) but the MR920 fixed a lot of common gripes with Glocks. Have the 1911 angle back strap on my MR and it's a completely different experience than a 19.

I recently bought a P226 Mk25 and a P229 M11-A1. Both were brand new. Sig Sauer is still making them.

I know they still build a few P-2xx models but most have disappeared from production. Strikers are much cheaper to build and people want cheap. Result, more sales and higher profits.

Of the models that Glock is discontinuing?
I'm thinking about a G30 gen5. I'm really happy with my G29 gen5.
I debate about a G34 or G17, but I'm more interested in just buying a G47.

I am looking at the future! Hey Glock how about a G48 & G43 sized 10mm. Are you listening out there 😊

Bought my Glock G17 when they first came out, more so for it's technological achievements than it's design ergonomics (which really didn't suit my hand shape and size at all). Really just kept it around as a range gun mainly until I saw one day how much the early ones were going for on Gun Broker. Got a really great deal selling it on consignment at the LGS and eventually found two models (Glock G43X and Glock G48) that fit my hand so much better that I bought both of them when they were on sale.

I've got a G27 Gen3 on the way. While I've carried mostly 9mm for the last decades I like the .40 a lot and appreciate its advantages over the 9.
Last gun purchase was a Gen 4 G27. I don't find .40 to be annoying at all with that gun. That said, I mostly carry it with 9mm conversion parts installed, essentially a G26.

What Glocks am I buying befo dey goes away?
None.

I'm not particularly interested in another .45. Not at all interested in 45GAP. If I feel the desire to scratch the .357 SIG itch, I'll get a barrel for the G27. Unlikely. If I want another .40, they probably won't be hard to get hold of.

Exactly why I got my 48 as well.

What's wrong with the M&P Shield 1.0 or 2.0 in 40s&w? I think they'd be better than an any Glock single stack.

Glocks really don't interest me at all. If they went out of business tomorrow and every last one disappeared from the American market, it would make no difference to me. I still wouldn't run out and buy one. That said, I did use to want a 27.5 MOS with a conversion 9mm and 357sig barrel, but Glock never made a Gen 27.5 Mos. I'm more of a .40 than a 9mm guy too.

I have a 1.0 Shield in .40 S&W. It sucks compared to the G43. Is it a bad gun? No. But compared to the original plastic fantastic, GLOCK beats S&W.

Unless a really good deal (think LE trade-in) falls in my lap, I doubt I ever get another one. Just can’t see it making sense, for me.

They are like golf clubs …. how many 5 irons do you need??

I have owned a G43 as well but gave it away. It's personal preference, but even the majority of members on GlockTalk who participate in polling threads on the topic choose the Shield over the G43. We can agree to disagree on the Glock single stacks being better than the Shield. To each their own.
