Which guns are single stacks?

I took the gf to a little gun store here in Taiwan, replicas of all the real guns (except in airsoft...) her hands are SMALL and so even something like a Sig P series was too big for her (229). Don't even mention the 2x4s that is the Glock and USP.

She thought the 1911's were ok, but still a bit big.

Anything that's a Single stack? I'm thinking something along the lines of a Kahr.. Any other recommendations for small hands?

The full size Kahr has comfortable but small grips.

My wife (5'2") likes the Hogue grips on revolvers, even the larger ones like the 686. I have Hogues on the two main guns she shoots, the 686 house gun and our Dan Wesson 22 revolver. identical grips and smallish.

My wife uses a Colt's Officer's Model with a short reach trigger installed. Short reach used to be the standard 1911 trigger, but nowadays it is the exception.

My wife has the hands of a 2 year old. A Kahr has too long of a trigger reach...

So far, the only things that have fit, or at least been manageble has been #1 Sig P225, #2 a USP Compact fit strangely enough, #3 a Beretta Tomcat, but it was painful to shoot... blowback, ow, and the #4 1911 fit but was a bit much. Of course, her walther P22 fit, and the P99 with the small backstrap probably fit the best, but has yet to be shot. #1, and #2 can only be fired when the hammer is cocked and the trigger is back.

I would recommend trying both the P99 and Sig 225 for full size options.

The single stacks that come to mind are (in 9mm):
HK P7M8, SIG P225, S&W cs 9, Beretta Compact M type I believe is the single stack, the 'K' & 'P' Kahrs and the Springfield loaded 1911 in 9mm.

Single-stacks I can think of: 1911, Kahr, Beretta Type M, SIG 239, 225, 220, 245, S&W 39-series, 10-series, 45-series, Walther P38/P1, Makarov, Ruger P90 and P97, most .380's.

But a single-stack won't necessarily be more comfortable in small hands. The 1911 is still fairly fat, and the SIG 239 and 245 feel to me nearly as fast as a Beretta 92. My wife's small hands fit around a 1911 very poorly, and yet she likes the Beretta, go figure. CZ's and their clones, as well as the Browning HP, have very slim grips for double-stacks.

Plus there's always revolvers, which have much more flexibility in grip size.

Also look at the S&W single stacks, like the 3913. The Kahr is slim, but the recoil spring is relatively heavy and my wife can't lock the gun open.

As much as I'd like to recommend the P7, I've found that people with REALLY small hands have trouble getting a good grip after the squeeze. The leverage is wrong.

The Kahr is cool, but the trigger is long for small hands.

For really tiny hands, it seems almost like its .380 or revolvers.

My wife has the same problem, small hands with short fingers. After feeling up a lot of guns, she was happy with the SIG-239. I consider myself to have medium-large hands and the 239 is a bit small for myself but with a bit of practice you can get used to it. It is a single stack with a short trigger and generaly a decent firearm for people with small hands

SIG for all seasons...

as mentioned, the SIG P225 and P239 are both single stack, but smaller in diameter than the P220.

Slap the optional short trigger in place, and she's good to go!
