Which Hand priming tool do you like ?

I like the RCBS Universal hand primer so much I bought two of them one for large primers and one for small primers.

I was a Lee primer guy until my thumbs couldn't take it due to age. Like you, I went with the RCBS and I liked it so much I have one for each sized primer.

If my RCBS universal every breaks, I'll be getting another RCBS universal. Love that thing.
Mine works well, but is harder on my old hands and I can't prime 500/600/700 at one sitting without pain that lasts for awhile. I can do that with no pain with my old RCBS hand primer.

Your RCBS tool?

I’m not too worried about it right now as I’m so busy trying to get other things done as I’m going for another shoulder surgery December 10. I’ll have the rest of the winter sitting doing nothing so I’ll get ahold of RCBS then and see if they will do anything about it.
It looks like the plastic guide is in need of being replaced. I do all small pistol priming on my LNL but use the RCBS for 45/70 and 303. I do prime 44 magnum and 45 Colt with it as I load a lot of small amounts when trying different loads.

I did that and it didn't help. I have decided the seater stem can go off center on the piece that pushes it up from wear on that piece, I intend to make a new one that will hold the seater stem centered at the bottom.

Funny you say that as every now and then the plunger jams on the up stroke. I’ve taken it apart cleaned and lubed but I think something is going on with it. Might just be wore out as well.

I have several. The new type Lee 'bench' primer works okay, but I prefer the older style round plastic primer tray. And the Lee bench primer set up feels 'springy' but doesn't seem to affect usefulness.

The Hodgdon hand unit is a bit complicated to get set up (sub parts fit rather tight, have to line things up very carefully), but works well and uses shell head holders, so no 'accessory' holder is needed.

The priming system build into the Dillon XL 650 (and I suppose the XL750) works well. But doesn't process Federal primers well. (They crush.)

Have not used the higher priced ones.
I thought the Dillon 750 switched over to the 550 style priming system?

I usually prime small rifle cases in a single stage on my progressive press, then load them later. When I need to hand prime, I use a Hornady hand primer for small primers and the RCBS hand primer for large primers.

I liked the old round tray Lee ones.
The square tray ones and the current ones I don't think are as nice as the old ones (maybe a safer design but I never had any issues with the old round tray one)
Sadly the handles for my round tray one wore out and I an=m using the new one.

Frankford one looks nice, waiting to see if anybody has it and likes it.
For my use I prefer a hand prime to bench prime. (get those cases primed while watching football....)
I can't believe that some engineer at LEE came up with that flimsy tray cover. Maybe he gets a royalty for every replacement sold. They should be ashamed.

Amen to that. I just got the Lee bench primer, but that little triangle tray gave me fits. Didn’t like the folding, the snap closure, and that it was too small for large primers. So I swapped it out for the tray from my RCBS Universal hand primer. Just a little sanding off the top of the chute area, and it slid right in. Now I’ve got a luxurious amount of real estate for flipping primers.

Can't say enough good things about the bench primer. Priming hundreds at a time is no problem at all. No more arm and hand pain from trying to do too much at once with the hand primer.

I’m in RCBS bench primer system. Lee was good till got older hurts to much RCBS lot easier and fast to use
Roc1

Started with a Lee and went to RCBS when my thumbs started hurting. Even still, I wear gloves (both for protection and taking it easy on the hands). Lee is good, RCBS is just better. My $.02 worth.
